Samuel Cooper: Revolutionary War Sermon
During the American Revolution preachers played a vital role in shaping the future country. Samuel Cooper had a church in Boston, at the very heart of the Revolution, that had notable figures such as John Hancock and future presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams. In this sermon, On The Commencement Of The Constitution, Cooper preaches a sermon to the founders who would eventually write the constitution of the United States. In 1780, during the middle of the Revolution, he cast a vision of what the United States could be. And he described what would be needed to have a nation that aligned itself with God in all things.
