The Importance of Technology in Treasury with Séverine Le Blévennec

In this week’s episode of the Treasury Career Corner podcast I’m joined by Séverine Le Blévennec, the Senior Director of the Honeywell Europe, Middle East and Africa Treasury team and global lead for Treasury Technology. We draw from her vast experience in the treasury world to uncover the secrets to her success and how treasury has changed over her career.Honeywell International Inc. is an American multinational conglomerate company that produces commercial and consumer products, engineering services and aerospace systems. Along with her team, Séverine supports over 460 affiliates in 55 countries and runs the in-house bank of the group.Since she joined Honeywell in ‘06 Séverine has been running its in-house bank and managing many treasury projects in the fields of cash management, cash investments, EU regulations compliance and lobbying, tax planning and M&A. Her kaizen spirit and strong appetite for technology has led her to steer Honeywell treasury’s transformation and digitalisation. In fact, in June '18 Séverine obtained her RPA Developer certificate and launched Honeywell Treasury Robotics initiative.Before she joined Honeywell, Séverine spent 7 years at GMAC European Treasury Centre where she was involved in all aspects of liability management: capital market programs, credit lines negotiation and documentation, securitisation transactions and innovative secured credit lines set up. The stellar work she’s done hasn’t gone unrecognised as Séverine’s been honoured by numerous international awards in the fields of cash and liquidity management, innovation and technology or treasury strategy. Becoming a Group Treasurer at 26 with Markus Kede

Building a career in treasury is something that many of us put years and years of hard work into to get to the position of our dreams. However, sometimes you can get thrown in the deep end at a very young age. This episode of the podcast is special as I’m joined by Markus Kede. Markus began his treasury career incredibly young and became a Group Treasurer at just 26! He has now been in the industry for ten years and talks to me about his career journey, the challenges he has faced and advice for those looking for similar success.   Markus Kede is the Director of Group Treasury and Insurance at H. Lundbeck A/S based in Denmark. Lundbeck is a global pharmaceutical company that specializes in improving the quality of life of people living with brain diseases. Markus also worked as a Group Treasurer at Kwintet AB for five years. During his time there, Markus became the Group Treasurer and was tasked with maintaining normality whilst the company was under enormous financial pressure.   Markus has a degree in Science in Financial and Strategic Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has had an incredibly varied and successful career at such a young age, with a huge amount of responsibility put on his shoulders. Arts Graduate to Treasury Professional with Julia Fordham

She has achieved many milestones throughout her 25 years of experience in healthcare finance. Cathy is a subject matter expert, specialising in the following areas: banking relationship management, revenue cycle initiatives, AP automation, ecommerce solutions, PCI Compliance, and M&A integrations.   Ms. McGarry received a master’s degree in Business Administration from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL and bachelor’s degree in Finance from Eastern Illinois University. She is a recognised as a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). Cathy is also a member of the Association for Financial Professionals and Healthcare Financial Management Association nationally and locally.
