MCA Scuttlebutt
The Marine Corps Association is dedicated in its mission to support Today’s Marines. Our podcast, Scuttlebutt, seeks to create a forum to encourage and inspire Marines, former Marines, Marine families, and supporters of the Marine Corps to engage with issues that impact Marines and the Corps. Storytelling not only helps us unpack who we are, but brings us into conversation with the world and people around us. We will hear stories from Marines and civilians working to honor, uncover, and restore Marine Corps history, as well as from those working every day to make the world a better place.

Scuttlebutt Ep 40: Nick Kalt, Doing Good in Dangerous Situations
Vic sat down with Nick Kalt to dig deep into his career, first as a combat engineer in the Marines and then as a firefighter in Long Beach, California. Listen to this great episode that covers a lot of ground, from talking about how Marines in the Middle East were doing good things, regardless of the political reasons they were sent in, from liberating villages, to building roads and schools, to why firefighting is a logical next choice for driven Marines who seek service and camaraderie, even for someone who was seriously injured twice in the Corps, once in training and once the line of service, as Kalt was.
