How to...combat nerves when giving presentations in English

The inspiration came from a comment about a student's challenges and fears when giving presentations in English. Doing things in front of peers and colleagues is sometimes difficult let alone when it is in another language. In this episode I give you my top tip about how to combat your nerves andI also touch on the difference between the adjective nervous in English and in Spanish because it actually doesn't mean the same thing.Oh and by the way... - Stay tuned to the end of the episode to hear some exciting news for an event at the end of March which I will be doing exclusively for newsletter subscribers.ANNA WITH 2NS ENGLISH PODCAST. 10 minutes where I talk about different things in EnglishGet even more of my English content on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/anna2nsenglish/ See how you can support me and my podcast https://www.buymeacoffee.com/annawith2ns  Say hello on LinkedIn @AnnaConnellyFollow me on Instagram @annabusinessenglish

Interviews in English for non-native speakers with Nigel Job from The Interview Specialist

Wow, it has been one year since I started this podcast. As they say, time flies when you are having fun. To mark this milestone I'm bringing you a special episode with a very special guest. I asked you last year what things you wanted me to talk about. Time and time again people would ask me about Interviews in English. "What should I say" "What should I do?" "How can I stop being so nervous?" Join me and Nigel, an international interview expert, as he gives some great fantastic tips but also a fresh perspective on the interview experience for non-native speakers of English. Nigel was a wonderful guest and I hope you take away something useful that you can use in interviews in the future. By the way - the episode was recorded in November 2020 which is why we make reference to "this year" meaning 2020. Just in case it confused you!ANNA WITH 2NS ENGLISH PODCAST. 10 minutes where I talk about different things in EnglishGet more of my English learning content: https://www.instagram.com/anna2nsenglish/ Learn how to support me and my podcast: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/annawith2nsNIGEL'S LINKSFind him on Instagram here:https://www.instagram.com/theinterviewspecialist/       Say hello on LinkedIn @AnnaConnellyFollow me on Instagram @annabusinessenglish

How to....use the phrasal verb "break down"

Break down is a beautiful and fascinating phrasal verb that has multiple meanings and I wanted  to share it with you. I've been looking at this phrasal verb recently in my classes and it gave me the inspiration. Some of the meanings are very common and useful at work too. I like to teach you things that are unusual and interesting but also those where you are going to have a high ROI. Meaning if you learn them it will be worth your time and effort because we use them a lot every day.I break down (excuse the pun!) the phrasal verb into meanings and give clear examples that you can go off and use in your conversations at home and at work.I hope you enjoy this episode. Grab a pen or paper to write down the different meanings. I use the Spanish translations but you can write down the translation into your own language.ANNA WITH 2NS ENGLISH PODCAST. 10 minutes where I talk about different things in EnglishFind more of my free English content: https://www.instagram.com/anna2nsenglish/  Support Me and My Podcast: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/annawith2ns Say hello on LinkedIn @AnnaConnellyFollow me on Instagram @annabusinessenglish
