I had the privilege of meeting Clay both in St. Louis and then a few weeks later in Seattle, and this kid not only had an incredibly bright future on the track, but is also one of the most genuinely kind people I've ever met. The Story Of Isaiah Harris: From Tough Beginnings To The World Championships

Today on the podcast is Isiah Harris! Isaiah runs for the Brooks Beast. Isaiah most recently placed second at this year's US Championships by running a time of 1:46.68, sending him to Budapest this month for the 2023 World Championships. Back in 2022, he earned a spot on his first US team by finishing 2nd at the 2022 USATF Indoor National Championships, eventually finishing seventh at the World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. In college, Isaiah achieved several notable milestones during his collegiate career at Penn State University, including winning the 2018 NCAA Championship in the Outdoor 800-meters with a time of 1:44.76. Isaiah is an 8-time Big Ten Champion and holds the All-Time Big Ten Indoor Championships and Outdoor Championships Records in the 800-meters with times of 1:46.24 and 1:45.31, respectively. He also competed in the 2017 IAAF World Championships and the USATF Championships, earning a silver medal in the latter with a time of 1:44.53. He demonstrated consistent performances and secured multiple NCAA Indoor/Outdoor All-American honors throughout his career. With impressive speed and endurance, Isaiah established himself as one of the top middle-distance runners in the United States and made significant contributions to Penn State's track and field program. He holds PRs of 1:51.22 (800m), 3:37.52 (1500m), 3:57.18 (Mile), and 13:50.87 (5k). As a senior, he achieved the prestigious title of First Team All-American in the DMR (Distance Medley Relay) category. During his college years, Austen competed in various indoor and outdoor meets, consistently delivering strong performances. He set personal best times in events like the 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters, earning him placements at championship events like the SEC Outdoor Championships and NCAA West Regional. Austen's dedication and skills were evident throughout his college career, where he contributed valuable points to his team and consistently improved his performance. Prior to college, Austen demonstrated exceptional talent in high school, excelling in cross country and track events, holding multiple school records. In this episode, Austen goes through his story, including being too invested in running, having an eating-disorder, and thriving as a professional. We also go through mindsets around the sport, and how that's changed overtime for Austen, as well as "The Tour" and much more. Rhythms of Success: US Champion Nia Akins' Harmonious Pursuits Of Track & Music

Today on the podcast is your 2023 Women's 800m Champion, Nia Akins! Nia is an outstanding track and field athlete with an impressive list of accomplishments. Before she became a professional runner, she was the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships National Runner-Up and the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships National Runner-Up in the 800m. She was recognized as one of the top contenders for the Bowerman Award and was a finalist for the USTFCCCA National Women's Track Athlete of the Year. Nia has excelled in various events, earning All-America honors and capturing multiple titles at the Ivy League Indoor and Outdoor Heptagonal Championships. She holds several records at Penn, including the second-fastest time in NCAA history for indoor 800m (2:00.71) and first-all-time records in various relay events and outdoor races. In cross country, Nia has displayed her talent and earned accolades, such as USTFCCCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors and All-Ivy accolades. Nia also has ventured into the music space over the past few years and developed a great passion for it.
