What is Regeneration, Part 2, What We Believe, Part 28

Rapp Report episode 251 The topic of regeneration is the cause of great debate. Are we saved by works or not? Does saying a prayer save us? How about deciding to follow Jesus? This is answered, and the confusion over this issue is explained. The issues of regeneration and sanctification are explained in detail. Andrew details the doctrine of super-intending, which solves the problem many see with arguments of who chooses a person's salvation, God or man? Regeneration is clarified in this episode. This is the section of the Striving for Eternity doctrinal statement that is addressed: Genuine regeneration is manifested by fruits worthy of repentance as demonstrated in righteous attitudes and conduct. Good works will be its proper evidence and fruit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 2:10) and will be experienced to the extent that the believer submits to the control of the Holy Spirit in his life through faithful obedience to the Word of God (Ephesians 5:17-21; Philippians 2:12b; Colossians 3:16; 2 Peter 1:4-10). This obedience causes the believer to be increasingly conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). Such a conformity is climaxed in the believer’s glorification at Christ’s coming (Romans 8:17; 2 Peter 1:4; 1 John 3:2 3).   Listen to the last episode in the series: Bonus: Superintending the Solution to Calvinism vs. Arminianism, What We Believe, Part 27 This podcast is a ministry of Striving for Eternity and all our resources Listen to other podcasts on the Christian Podcast Community Support Striving for Eternity Leave us a review Fill out our survey about this show Give us your feedback, email us info@StrivingForEternity.org Get the book What Do They Believe Get the book What Do We Believe Sponsors: Logos Bible Software MyPillow or call (800) 873-0176 and use promo SFE

What is Regeneration, What We Believe, Part 26

Rapp Report episode 245 The topic of regeneration is the cause of great debate. This is the section of the Striving for Eternity doctrinal statement that is addressed: Regeneration is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit by which a new nature and eternal life are given (John 3:3-7; Titus 3:5). It is instantaneous and is accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God (John 5:24) when the repentant sinner, as enabled by the Holy Spirit, responds in faith to the divine provision of salvation. God Doesn’t Whisper Again

Rapp Report episode 244 Jim Osman, author of God Doesn't Whisper, to answer the following questions from a listener: "At first, when I listened to this I was upset, like, why shouldn't I expect to hear from God audibly? I had to ask God, please help me keep an open heart and teach me what I need to know, which He did. I still have questions by the way, but at the end of this podcast I can truly say I've learned something fresh. I don't know if I agree with all that was said, but I definitely see what I need to work on in my walk with Christ. I've had to ask myself; is the Word truly sufficient for me? Why exactly do I desire to hear God's voice? I do have a question or two that I need answered, I was disappointed it was not really talked on, or perhaps I missed when it was discussed. Question 1 is, does God speak audibly in this day and age? 2. Is it wrong to desire to hear from God audibly? Even knowing that it is not a compulsory part of the Christian walk and should not be expected, but are you saying 'don't even think about it'? Thank you."
