Rock is Lit: Bonus Featurette: Major LeGoullon on Guns N’ Roses Bassist Duff McKagan’s Autobiography ‘It’s So Easy: And Other Lies’
We’re talking nonfiction in this bonus featurette crafted entirely by Season 4 Production Intern Major LeGoullon. Major shines a spotlight on Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan’s 2012 autobiography, ‘It’s So Easy: And Other Lies’, drawing connections to Rock is Lit Season 2, Episode 18. That earlier episode featured Melissa Ragsly discussing her short story collection, ‘We Know This Will All Disappear’, including the Guns N’ Roses-inspired story "Mannequin," which references their song “Rocket Queen.” The episode also included a deep dive into Guns N’ Roses, especially “Rocket Queen,” with Decibel Geek podcast co-host AAron Camaro. Major’s thoughtful commentary offers a fresh perspective on music and literature and Duff McKagan. MUSIC IN THE EPISODE IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE:

SUPPORT THIS PODCAST!Join PatreonGet some merchDonate to the fundraiser~~~~FEATURED SONGREC – “Sunburn” (from THE SUNSHINE SEMINAR)https://www.nickdematteo.com/recthesunshineseminar This is sort of a holiday PODFAST for 2024. We could all use a little relaxation, and what better sound to have on in the background than ambient music. I get into the precursors, the origins, the history, the genres and subgenres. Some of it keeps you engaged by its subtle variation. Some of it lulls you into relaxation or even sleep – by design or by accident. Are you into ambient music of any kind? What’s your favorite? Does some work for you while other kinds get on your nerves? Or do you find it all too slow and dull? Discuss dammit!~~~~*intro music credit: REC - "You Make Me Wanna" (from RECcollection: The Best of REC 2007-2020) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

My Rock Moment: Jenny Boyd, '60s Muse and Author of 'Icons of Rock: In Their Own Words'
Jenny Boyd, though not a musician, is well-known in the music industry. Formerly married to Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac, she's also Pattie Boyd's sister and sister-in-law to George Harrison and Eric Clapton. Jenny was surrounded by rock royalty from a young age and experienced many legendary moments in rock history as a result.Drawing on her deep connections in the rock world, Jenny wrote 'Icons of Rock: In Their Own Words' - a compilation of candid interviews with some of the greatest musicians of the '60s, 70s, 80s and today. Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Don Henley, Eric Clapton and other rock giants draw back the curtain on their creative process, their thoughts on spirituality and the effect that drugs and alcohol may have had on their art.Infused with personal stories of her time in San Francisco during the Summer of Love, meeting George Harrison for the first time and her stay in India with The Beatles, Jenny and I discuss some of the most poignant interviews in the book.Get more details on the book with the links below:https://thejennyboyd.com/https://www.amazon.com/Icons-Rock-Their-Behind-Famous/dp/1684815444 Learn more about your ad choices. Shout It Out Loudcast: Album Review Crew "7800 Fahrenheit"
On the 59th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, Steve Wright from the Podder Than Hell Podcast, review the 1985 album from Bon Jovi, "7800 Fahrenheit."7800 Fahrenheit is Bon Jovi's second studio album. The young band continued the same basic formula as their debut album. The band was led by charismatic frontman Jon Bon Jovi who was the primary songwriter. Richie Sambora the guitarist also helped write songs with Jon and you could see the beginnings of this legendary duo. David Bryan on keyboards also helped with a few songs. Alec John Such and Tico Torres rounded out the rhythm section. The album was produced by Lance Quinn. The album continued where their debut left off, with some rockers, mid-tempo songs and a ballad. Jon continued his hard working ways to craft an album in between consecutive non stop tours. 7800 Fahrenheit is a polarizing album often panned by Jon, but loved by the fans, especially songs like, In And Out Of Love & Tokyo Road. The album did go platinum and features 3 MTV Videos. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was Zeus' pick.So grab your tightest pair of jeans that squeeze your hickory nuts and tune in!To Purchase Bon Jovi’s “7800 Fahrenheit” On Amazon Click Below: Bon Jovi's "7800 Fahrenheit" To Purchase Shout It Out Loudcast’s KISS Book “Raise Your Glasses: A Celebration Of 50 Years of KISS Songs By Celebrities, Musicians & Fans Please Click Below: Raise Your Glasses Book For all things Shout It Out Loudcast check out our amazing website by clicking below: www.ShoutItOutLoudcast.com Interested in more Shout It Out Loudcast content?
