War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
A Mount Everest of classics yet most humbly written. Tolstoy said that the best Russian literature does not conform to standards, and War and Peace is definitely in a class of its own. It was first published serially, then published fully in 1869. Our favorite Russian writer, Leo Tolstoy explores complex ideas and brings new light to old ideas. War and Peace has long been hailed a literary masterpiece and we cannot disagree. It is a brilliant work of art and literary genius. The novel is massive and we are barely able to scratch the surface, yet we highly recommend adding this one to your book list!

Kid Lit Locker- Another Whole Nother Story By Dr. Cuthbert Soup, Book 2
Today we take a look in our Kid Lit Locker with some special kid guest who help us recap the second book in the Whole Nother Story series. We didn't realize it at the time when we were recording, but there is a third and last book of the series called No Other Story. This was an enjoyable, quirky, and entertaining read but again leaves you hanging at the end.
Gerry Swallow, a stand up comic and screenwritter who goes by the pen name Dr. Cuthbert Soup does an excellent job of word play and perfectly placed puns. Gerry provided plenty of action including a witch hunt, pirate scuffles, sailing into a storm and more. Our kid guests preferred the first book in the series and were disappointed in the lack of closure. We will add the third book to our stack to see if we can find out what will happen to the mom.
Thanks for listening! If you enjoy this podcast please give us a 5 star rating and tell us what you like about the show in the review section. If you have anything insight or favorite quote from a book we have reviewed please click on the link below and leave us a message.
