It started just after her divorce when she realized she was approaching an “all or nothing” moment. Within 8 months she was making 6 figures.   Through all of this Jules made sure to stay focused on being a mother and taking care of herself as well. Meaghan Murphy is an Author, Editor, On-Air Personality & was recently named Editor-in-Chief of Woman’s Day magazine.   In this episode, Meaghan and Amy Jo discuss a recent Why Not Now? moment when Meaghan told herself, “If my new book becomes a New York Times Best-Seller, I’ll get the lightning bolt from the cover tattooed on my wrist!”. This If- Then-That approach soon became a wake up call that led her to the realization she needs to live in the present to be able to appreciate it.   Meaghan talks about her new book “Your Fully Charged Life”. She describes it as a radically simple approach to having endless energy and filling your day with yay. Living this way was something that Meaghan had to learn to do, and it wasn’t an easy journey.   Meaghan’s nickname was “Grumpy” as a child as she had a mostly negative mindset. She dealt with eating disorders, hospitalizations and the loss of her best friend at the age of 16. Tony Hsieh was my visionary friend, mentor and investor. He continues to be one of my greatest teachers. He’s a constant voice in my head and grin in my heart. In this episode, Tony shares his wisdom, which is pulled from our previous conversation on the show. I also share some of my greatest lessons and favorite memories. He passed away on November 27th.   Tony sold his first company to Microsoft at age 24 for $265 million. He then went on to sell Zappos to Amazon for $1.2 Billion in 2009. Yet those weren’t his biggest wins to date, in my opinion. His most notable successes, which we discuss in the show, has nothing to do with money.   Tony delivered happiness as his main gig but he also delivered dreams as a side hustle. Moonlighter. He believed in me before I learned to believe in myself.    Tony goes big. He did this at scale with many beneficiary-mentees. Many of which have become very good friends of mine over time. He was an open-source style kind of guy. Sharing was his thing. Tony collected friends and experiences, not things. He’s the shoe dude who could care less about shoes, it was all about the delivery.   We lost a visionary. He will be deeply missed, remembered and celebrated.
