Leading for Wellness with Katina Sawyer and Patricia Grabarek

What if everything you believe about workplace wellness is only part of the story? In this episode, Kevin welcomes Dr. Katina Sawyer and Dr. Patricia Grabarek to discuss the real drivers of well-being at work and the critical role leaders play in shaping thriving environments. Drawing on their research, Katina and Patricia challenge the overreliance on surface-level wellness programs and demonstrate how authentic leadership, trust, and team connection have far greater impact. They introduce the concept of "generators", leaders who energize and empower their teams and contrast them with "extinguishers," who unintentionally drain motivation and wellness. Patricia and Katina also explore ideas like authenticity within professional boundaries, person-centered leadership, and the practical importance of being a "boundary bouncer." What is the Biggest Secret to Giving Feedback?

Over the years, I've learned that feedback conversations often fail before they even begin — and I've made my fair share of mistakes too. But in this episode, I'm sharing what I believe is the biggest secret to giving feedback that actually works. Whether you're a leader, a coach, or just want to help someone grow — the key is not in what you say first, but in what you ask. In this video, I'll walk you through: - The powerful shift that makes feedback more effective - A few simple, open-ended questions I use to start these conversations - How to respond when someone says too little, too much, or just what you hoped they would - And the two final questions I always ask to create lasting improvement If you want your feedback to be received, accepted, and applied — start here. 👉 Want to help everyone in your organization give better feedback? How to Overcome Resistance to Change (and Why It's Not a Bad Thing) - Thoughts from Kevin

Resistance to change isn't your enemy — it's energy. In this episode of Remarkable TV, I share why resistance is actually a good sign that people care, and how leaders can use that energy to create positive momentum. We'll cover: Why resistance is natural — even in changes we choose ourselves What most leaders get wrong when facing pushback How to acknowledge and value resistance (without giving in to it) How to turn resistance into engagement and better results When people resist a change, it means they care. The Dangers of DISC Assessments (and How to Use Them Wisely)

DISC assessments are powerful tools for understanding human behavior—but only when they're used correctly. Too often, I see people misuse DISC by labeling others, stereotyping roles, or treating it as a final verdict instead of a helpful indicator. In this episode of Remarkable TV, I'll share: ✅ Why DISC is a model of behavior, not a definition of people ✅ How DISC shows natural tendencies—not skills or limitations ✅ The danger of labeling people by "just a few letters" ✅ How you can use DISC assessments responsibly and effectively I believe in the power of DISC—my team and I even offer our own DISC assessment tools. But like any tool, they can do more harm than good if they're misapplied. 👉 You can try a free or paid DISC assessment here: https://kevineikenberry.com/disc My name is Kevin Eikenberry and I'm here to help you reach your goal as a leader and a human being with Remarkable TV and the Remarkable Leadership Podcast.
