From Buddhism to Born-Again: One Man's Journey to Jesus

Having grown up in the Buddhist religion, Jonnathan Truong understands firsthand the dangers of yoga and yes, why he believes Christians should avoid it. This seems to be a pretty difficult topic for yoga-loving Christians, some of whom are quite unwilling to even consider giving it up. Jonnathan's story of faith is encouraging. I urge you to listen in today! Show Notes: http://heidistjohn.com/blog/podcasts/jonnathan-truong | Send a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/heidistjohn/message

No Such Thing as "Holy" Yoga—But Can We Still Do the Poses?

Of all the podcasts I have recorded, NONE has received as much feedback as this topic. It's alarming that most Christians who religiously practice yoga will defend their practice with more fervency and passion than their relationship with Jesus Christ. Christians! Is it any wonder that we are struggling so much when we refuse to rid ourselves of the very things that God warns us against? Listen in as I discuss this topic and more at today's podcast. The Outsourcing of Parenting

For generations in the United States and in most western cultures, we have outsourced 90% of the training of our children. We send our kids to Sunday School so they can be trained in the Bible, we send them to public or Christian schools for their academic training, and we get them at breakfast and dinner to begin and end the day. No wonder we’re losing our kids. Today I’ll be talking about why this has to change. Show Notes: http://heidistjohn.com/blog/podcasts/outsourcing-parenting

#ReplayThursday | Christianity + Yoga: Do They Mix?

[Listener Favorites Replay] Should Christianity mix with yoga? Are yoga poses benign if we do them but don't engage in the spiritual practice behind them? This is the question I'm asking my guest, Jessica Smith, who taught yoga for many years. Jessica has a unique perspective and a solid biblical stance on this modern controversy. Yoga is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophical traditions, yet many Christians today are practicing yoga with the belief that yoga's deep ties to Hinduism and Buddhism can be avoided. I will confess, I thought the same thing—but not any longer. Jessica challenged me and opened my eyes to the truth about this topic. Listen in. I pray your heart is blessed and encouraged as you strive to know God in a deeper way and bring Him honor in everything you do. Post Pandemic Forgiveness: The Struggle is Real

The last three years have been difficult — to say the least. Loss of jobs, friendships, trust—anger, loss of freedom. The list goes on and on. I'm answering a question from a wife and mother who has legitimate reasons to be angry at how her husband was treated for refusing the thing-which-shall-not-be-named, and offering hope as we all try to move forward and resist becoming bitter.
