I've been getting a lot of requests lately to talk about the issue of vaccination. Honestly? I am avoiding you folks :) because all seven of our kids are vaccinated. However! I have dear friends who disagree with me on this issue. One of them is on the podcast with me today. Join me as we talk about why I think that while it's important to talk about things like vaccines, issues like this should never divide friends. Listen in!

A child’s first lessons about their bodies—everything from their appearance to what God says about human sexuality—come from their parents. The messages we give them early in life have a deep, long-lasting impact on how they will see themselves as adults. So where do we start? How do we pass on a godly perspective of sexuality and beauty to our kids? As in every other area of life, we start at the starting place: the Bible. We dare not trust human wisdom where these tender topics are concerned.

The modern church is facing a crisis of belief. Do we really believe that the message of the Gospel is enough? Do we really believe that God is big enough to push through the cultural fog and invade the hearts of men and women today? What good is an entertaining church service that fails to entertain the questions that this generation is asking? What good is it if we can’t articulate compassion and truth in a way that clearly addresses the message of the cross? The cross is hope. …and hope does not disappoint. Hope has a name. It’s Jesus. The truth of the gospel has not changed. The saving power of a relationship with Jesus is all the relevance we need.
