It seems that it’s popular in the culture today to embrace a posture of victimization. We’re victims because of the circumstances of our birth, our financial background, our race or our gender. Many people are angry over things that happened generations ago—and rather than embrace a posture of gratefulness for what God has done, they embrace an identity that’s wrapped up in victimization. If you’re like me, you let your kids browse the library books and pick out what they want to take home, without giving it much thought.  It’s the library!  But listen, Mom, we’re learning we can’t do that anymore.  It’s time to #getoffthebench and get involved in what’s happening, because the children’s section isn’t a safe place for our kids.  Let’s talk about why and what we can do.

Are you a slave to your belongings?  Do you spend more time caring for them than enjoying them? Do they keep you from living a healthy full life and spending time with others you love? Will your children be saddled with generations of hand me downs when you pass? These are important questions to ask as we learn to be good stewards of the resources we’ve been given: money, time, and relationships. Steve Lambert has worn many hats in his 68 years: pastor, author, speaker, stock broker and more. Together, he and his wife Jane Claire Lambert created and publish Five in a Row homeschool curriculum which has been a homeschool mainstay for nearly 25 years. They began homeschooling their children in 1981 and today their seven grandchildren are being homeschooled as well and range in age from 18 months to 18 years.

There is a difference between endurance, forbearance, and perseverance. One implies joy and a whole life experience that is so much more than passively surviving. Let’s discuss which one we are created for!
