Meekness is a word we see tied to gentleness in the scriptures, and commonly misunderstood. Even as you read it, meekness brings to mind pictures of a tiny mouse shivering in the corner. In the ’90s (and still today!) it was big for women in assertiveness classes to decide that in order to not be a doormat, standing up for oneself was the way to go. In reality, meekness is restrained strength—and God offers it to you! 

Submission. This topic seems to be a bitter pill for many women to swallow—and it’s not hard to understand why. In the church, the issue of submission in marriage is often misrepresented. This week at MomStrong International, we’re studying what Biblical Submission should look like, and why God’s design for marriage is beautiful in every way.

Although Jesus said He came to give us abundant life, sometimes we can find ourselves a prisoner of past pain.  When we allow ourselves to become self-focused, we can lose sight of the Healer, and instead, fall into feelings of shame.
