There is so much fear being put on our children right now. We can never forget that fear is a spirit—and God says that "perfect love casts out fear." As parents, we have an incredible opportunity to teach our children how to thrive in times of anxiety and fear—always remembering that we can’t give what we don’t have. Since we can never know what’s around the corner, we must lean daily into the One who does. We need to be ready to give an answer for the hope that we have in Christ—starting with our children. Last week, over 2500 Christian leaders, university presidents, magazine editors and pastors signed  "A Christian Statement on Science for Pandemic Times."  They said, "because of our faith in Jesus Christ, we will: wear masks, correct misinformation and get vaccinated," among other things. But is it "Christ-like" to manipulate fellow Believers using Scripture to mandate a vaccine?

Hope In Hopelessness

My friend and assistant Melissa Crabtree decided to get #offthebench a few weeks ago when a mask mandate and other restrictions were proposed in her city by the city council. Today we're finishing the story of what it has looked like to stand up and rally others to fight for liberty, even with no experience. She's learning along the way, the Lord is bringing others to help, and it's working. The mandate has been voted down twice now in Enid, Oklahoma! Ordinary people are the ones who need to stand up, and Melissa is sharing what she's learned, how Christians can overcome some typical hangups that keep them sitting on the sidelines, why it matters so much.
