CC172: Exposing the Modal Argument from Contingency w/ Dr. Josh Rasmussen

In this livestream, Dr. Josh Rasmussen (@Worldview Design) joins me to explain a Modal Argument from Contingency. This is a particular kind of cosmological argument that combines logical and existential data. In English, it's a ridiculously strong argument for God's existence. CC169: Why the Puddle Analogy Against God Fails Miserably

In this video, I explain why the Puddle Analogy against the Fine-tuning Argument for God fails (on multiple levels). #1: The likelihood principle says that “if some evidence is more likely on Hypothesis 1 than Hypothesis 2, then that evidence confirms Hypothesis 1 over Hypothesis 2.” Here’s a quick example: suppose you’re playing Poker and the guy to your left has been dealt a Royal Flush the last 5 hands. Being dealt 5 Royal Flushes in a row is likely on the hypothesis that he’s cheating and unlikely on the hypothesis that he’s not cheating. This fact therefore provides evidence that he’s cheating over not cheating. And btw, anybody actually in that situation would (without a doubt) suspect that he’s cheating. #2: See number three at this website: http://home.messiah.edu/~rcollins/Fine-tuning/FT.HTM #3: https://youtu.be/58brbYwN0Q0 #4: (Same link as #3) https://youtu.be/58brbYwN0Q0 #5: Universes by John Leslie: https://amzn.to/2E4PrWP Link to the YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXCo0a9KBIw Our Website: www.capturingchristianity.com Our Patreon: www.patreon.com/capturingchristianity

CC167: Does Having 100+ Arguments for God Actually Matter?

Does having hundreds of arguments for God actually do any philosophical work or is it a rhetorical gimmick? Dr. Ted Poston and Dr. Chad McIntosh join me to discuss a very interesting argument for the existence of God: The Argument from All the Arguments. CC166: Over 100 Arguments for the Existence of God PART TWO

In this video, Dr. Chad McIntosh presents over 100 arguments for the existence of God. Each argument is presented in visual form followed by recommended sources for further research. At the end, we discuss what a similar list of arguments for atheism would look like (and what it would imply for the theistic list of arguments).
