Trumped Up

Welcome to this week’s Weekly Sceptic podcast – episode 29! Toby and Nick discuss Trump’s arrest and how Ron DeSantis may react. They then talk about the infamous Suella Braverman picture and the thousands of subsequent Auschwitz memes shared on Twitter by people who were only a month ago railing against Andrew Bridgen’s Holocaust quote. Nick and Toby go on to discuss the distinction between ‘disinformation’, ‘misinformation’ and ‘malinformation’… They then speak about the British Police turning away from enforcing free speech rights whilst spending time (and taxpayer money) on woke diversity training. And Nick and Toby discuss the glorious implosion of the SNP! Boris is back in the news – with hostilities resuming between he and Dominic Cummings. BBC’s Own Goal

Welcome to the Weekly Sceptic podcast – episode 28! This week, Nick and Toby discuss Gary Lineker’s heroic stand against the BBC as well as how scared the Government is of footballers. They discuss Fiona Bruce being criticised for adding a legal disclaimer (at the behest of a producer) to a reference to Stanley Johnson’s alleged domestic abuse. Toby discusses the recent victory against the Orwellian ‘non crime hate incidents’ and Nick suggests a clever way to get the police to take burglary a little more seriously. Nick and Toby discuss the Jan 6th ‘insurrection’ footage, the Q-Anon Shaman’s treatment, the potential provocateur infiltrators and the inevitable media reaction. They also chat about Hugh Grant being interviewed on the red carpet and how his intolerant petulance – why is this ex-model bothering me? – went viral. This week's sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://www.thorholt.com/, on Whatsapp: +44 7906 321593 https://thorholt.substack.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his telegram channel at @thor_holt. Birdwatch makes a welcome return this week and the boys discuss the reaction (meltdown) to Peter Hitchens’ claim that the Nazis were left wing And of course – Nick and Toby compete for the title of Peak Woke To advertise on one of the fastest growing podcasts in the world – or if you have a question for Dr Peterson – drop Toby a line on thedailysceptic@gmail.com Please go to https://dailysceptic.org/ and make a donation so we can continue to bring you all this high quality content. The Lockdown Viles

In this week’s episode, Toby and Nick discuss who emerges as the most loathsome character in the Lockdown Files, Matt Hancock, Simon Case or the duo of Slackie and Lee? They also discuss why so many senior journalists and broadcasters appear to be more outraged by the fact that Isabel Oakeshott gave Hancock’s WhatsApp messages to the Telegraph, apparently breaking a non-disclosure agreement, than they are by the scandalous revelations the messages contain. Next, they consider whether Sue Gray joining Keir Starmer’s staff is a man-bites-dog story or a dog-bites-man story. Toby thinks it’s the latter – after all, didn’t we already know that most senior civil servants are Labour supporters? They go on to discuss Michael Knowles’s comments about wanting to ‘eradicate’ trans ideology at CPAC and whether that was deliberately misinterpreted by woke journalists as wanting to ‘eradicate’ trans people, or whether those journalists believe – alongside trans rights activists – that any challenge to trans ideology is tantamount to erasing trans people? They also talk about Stella Creasy’s amendment to the Public Order Bill which would create ‘buffer zones’ around abortion clinics in England and Wales and the recent arrest of the Christian campaigner Isabel Vaughn-Spruce for silently praying outside an abortion clinic and puzzle over why she’s been arrested again when the last time it happened the charges against her were dropped. In the last item before the break, they discuss Chris Rock’s swipe at Meghan Markle in his latest Netflix comedy special and agree that Rock, while good, isn’t as funny as Dave Chapelle. They also wonder whether comedians are now the only people left who can get away with attacking sacred cows and try to devise a test whereby Toby writes a defence of Prince Andrew in the Spectator and Nick includes one in a stand-up routine and they wait to see if Toby gets cancelled but Nick doesn’t. This week's sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://www.thorholt.com/, https://thorholt.substack.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his telegram channel at @thor_holt. Will Jones then joins Nick to talk about the big stories in the Daily Sceptic in the past seven days: a new study saying mRNA vaccines contain DNA that may turn human cells into spike protein factories; the risk that Net Zero policies will cause global starvation, according to two top climate scientists; whether the number of births in England fell in 2022 compared to 2021 and, if so, whether that’s linked to the Covid vaccines; the rise in hormone prescriptions since 2020; and new scientific evidence suggesting temperatures have been stable in Greenland for 60 years, save for a sudden jump of one degree in 1994. In Peak Woke, Nick offers up drag queen baby raves, while Toby volunteers the removal of any Christian content from songs the Girl Guides since around the campfire. Finally, we are blessed with another visit from Dr Jordan Peterson, who answers listeners’ problems, including a query about whether if you dressed as a women to go to a party you could get away with blackface, claiming you’d come as a ‘woman of colour’. Shamima Begone

Welcome to The Weekly Sceptic - episode 26… The boys discuss Jacob Rees-Mogg’s GB News debut, Rishi’s Northern Ireland deal and the prominent brexiteers’ reaction to it. Nick and Toby discuss the ‘desecration’ of the Quran by pupils at a Wakefield school and whether, because of multiculturalism, Britain now has unofficial blasphemy laws. Shamima Begum makes a return to the news and Nick and Toby discuss people’s varying reactions (as well as their own) to her wishing to return. Scott Adams has been completely cancelled and the boys go into detail regarding whether it was justified, whether Adams is on the spectrum (and then, of course, inevitably they discuss whether they themselves are on the spectrum).  This week's sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/  https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his Telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up). Artificial Unintelligence

Welcome to the Weekly Sceptic - episode 25! Toby and Nick discuss the ruination of Roald Dahl and Rudyard Kipling’s writings – much to the fury of Nick, Rishi Sunak and Salman Rushdie! Nicola Sturgeon has gone – but Toby and Nick wonder whether she might be replaced by someone even worse? Nick and Toby then reflect that people who subscribe to orthodox beliefs seem to suffer compared to those with other beliefs. Toby then unexpectedly lends his support to the leadership aspirations of the truly awful Humza Yousaf…  Nick talks about the woke and chilling AI chatbots and then attempts to describe what ‘prompt injection attack’ is. Toby talks about AI gold rushes, recounts Google’s recent embarrassing moment and subsequent loss of market cap and the boys finish off the segment on the nature of sentience.  Nick and Toby then discuss South Park’s hilarious lampooning of Harry and Meghan (spoiler: Meghan takes offence, obviously).  Birdwatch makes a return and the boys discuss the 'Konstantin Kisin vs Matt Walsh' spat on Twitter regarding the long awaited backlash to woke…  This week’s first sponsor is The Jasmine Sari by Philip Tucker, available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TVFGV8S Dr Will Jones joins Nick to discuss the week’s most interesting stories as featured in the Daily Sceptic.  This week's second sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/  https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his Telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up). Osama Rees-Mogg

This week, Toby and Nick discuss the attacks against GB News and the ongoing smears against Neil Oliver, Ian Dunt’s double standards, the failing attempts to weaponise Ofcom and Mark Steyn’s departure from GB News. This week's first sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/  https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his Telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up). Nick and Toby discuss Britain’s new terror threat, Jacob Rees-Mogg, the ever broadening definition right wing extremism, how Prevent seems to ignore actual terrorism and how Britain’s liberal elite’s obsession with ‘far right extremism’ is creating a new British Stasi. Nick discusses his Daily Sceptic article on Lee Anderson and the death penalty and Toby talks about how reluctant British juries are to convict these days. They go on to discuss a Yale economics professor’s controversial solution to Japan’s growing aging population and how Samantha Pressdee wrote an article in comedian trade mag Chortle saying comedians are all self-censoring wimps, only to get her show cancelled. This week’s second sponsor is Dan Gaskin at Crest Mortgages: https://www.crestmortgages.co.uk/ 0116 5023 000. Nick is joined by Dr Will Jones to discuss the week’s best stories in the Daily Sceptic. Sympathy For The Drivel

Welcome to this week’s Weekly Sceptic – where Toby and Nick discuss how Liz Truss’s downfall was more to do with the Bank of England, Pension Funds and LDIs, rather than her ‘Low Tax/High Growth’ policies. They talk about Rishi’s reshuffle – with Kemi Badenoch having been given the larger role of International Trade and Business. Toby recalls an uncharacteristically funny story by Stewart Lee about Grant Shapps – who was also reshuffled to the somewhat oxymoronic Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Nick and Toby also discuss the pathetic examples of Dominic Raab’s so called ‘bullying’ of civil servants (aka holding staff to high standards, like spelling correctly). Nick and Toby discuss whether The Grammys were Satanic or just naff. Toby posits that back in the day – David Bowie dressing as a woman (whilst actually being incredibly talented) was genuinely counter cultural; compared to the low quality musical output from ‘brave’ woke performers who are simply swimming with the tide. Nick suggests that maybe Elvis’s hips were to blame and Mary Whitehouse was right... This week's first sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/  https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up) Birdwatch makes a return with Matt Walsh lighting up Twitter with what used to be a totally normal statement. And when The Guardian tweeted out for women to share examples of online misogyny, they got a lot of answers that they weren’t expecting. Nick discusses the ongoing saga of Andrew Tate and his poignant posts from inside Romanian prison. And a ‘victim’ of Tate speaks out. This week’s second sponsor is Dan Gaskin at Crest Mortgages: https://www.crestmortgages.co.uk/ 0116 5023 000. Nick is joined by Dr Will Jones to discuss the week’s best stories in the Daily Sceptic. This week’s last sponsor is The Jasmine Sari by Philip Tucker, available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TVFGV8S Peak Woke returns again! And, for the first (but hopefully not the last) time – an uber celebrity psychologist makes an appearance on the show to answer some listeners’ questions – in a new section entitled ‘Ask Dr Peterson’. Charge of the 77th Brigade

In this week’s episode Toby and Nick discuss Toby’s appearance on the shadowy 77th Brigade’s watch list (along with Julia Hartley-Brewer, David Davies MP and Peter Hitchens) and the explosive Project Veritas story regarding Pfizer’s gain of function research (and the subsequent and impressive scrubbing of stories on the internet by Big Pharma and Big Tech). They chat about Nadhim Zahawi’s tax woes, his early departure from the Cabinet and his mixed covid record. And Nick reflects on how strange life is now, being colleagues on GB News with Jacob Rees-Mogg… And then Nick and Toby invent ‘Corbyn Corner’ a show featuring Jezza and Piers: in episode one they talk about how the Rothschilds control the world’s media! This week's first sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/  https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up) Nick and Toby discuss Nicola Sturgeon’s insane trans policies, they consider why Scotland is the wokest country in the United Kingdom and whether the latest trans prisoner scandal may be Sturgeon’s undoing. They discuss Sam Smith’s video and whether it has gone too far and Richard Madeley misgendering two people on Good Morning Britain in the space of a minute! This week’s second sponsor is Dan Gaskin at Crest Mortgages: https://www.crestmortgages.co.uk/ 0116 5023 000 Dr Will Jones and Nick discuss the week’s best stories in the Daily Sceptic. World Economic Harem

Welcome back to this week’s episode where Toby and Nick discuss how the global elite, after a hard day’s work saving the planet, like to pick up prostitutes in Davos. They consider Clarkson’s recent column in the Sunday Times (and Toby’s summary of it in the Daily Sceptic, which went viral) where Jeremy and his son discuss the war on free speech and Nick and Toby develop their idea for a reality show for cancelled celebrities. Nick talks about Steven Crowder turning down the Daily Wire’s paltry $50 million offer and discusses his Daily Sceptic piece on the same being given a C– by an anonymous GETTR user. They go on to wonder why no-one is offering them $50 million dollars to appear on a YouTube channel, which Nick attributes to American media personalities having higher expectations than their British counterparts. Nick and Toby go on to describe the chasm between how celebs are treated in the UK compared to the US and they both lament about not getting enough make-up on GB News. This week's first sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/  https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his Telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up) Toby and Nick talk about the hilarious parody Twitter account ‘TCMA’ completely fooling the media while tweeting out that ‘Natural Woman’ by Aretha Franklin was offensive and Lionel Richie’s ‘Three times a Lady’ was in fact a story about a non-binary person. And they wonder where the parody trans teacher with the large breasts went. Toby brings Nick up to speed about the latest Government plan to ban LGBT conversion therapy and why this might actually be much worse than it sounds. This week’s second sponsor is Dan Gaskin at Crest Mortgages: https://www.crestmortgages.co.uk/ 0116 5023 000 Nick and Dr Will Jones discuss this week’s pick of the best stories in the Daily Sceptic. The Grand Apology Tour

In this week’s super-sized episode, Toby and Nick discuss the Oxford Union debate –‘Woke Culture Has Gone Too Far’ – in which he and Konstantin Kisin both spoke in favour of the motion. Toby describes how Konstantin’s speech has racked up 20 million views on Twitter compared to his 30,000 (which Nick attributes to Russian interference). They also discuss Reginald D Hunter’s lazy smear against GB News and Stop Funding Hate’s targeting of Nick’s now famous ‘peanut allergy’ analogy to describe the over-sized influence of the trans lobby.  They then move on to talking about Nick’s Andrew Bridgen article in the Daily Sceptic – ‘A Bridgen Too Far’ – and whether invoking the holocaust is ever a wise move. This week's first sponsor is The Jasmine Sari by Philip Tucker, available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TVFGV8S Nick and Toby theorise about what’s behind the Conservative MP Steve Baker’s recent tweet about being an LGBT+ ally – Nick thinks it’s because Left-wing ideas have now captured even the right of the Tory Party, while Toby thinks he’s trying to shore up his woke credentials because he’ll be looking for a job in the tech sector after the election. They chat about Clarkson and the futility of apologising to a woke Twitchfork mob, how Harry accuses everyone of being a hatemonger (yet spews a fair amount of bile in his book) and how, within businesses, the pursuit of high social status seems to have replaced the profit motive. Toby and Nick develop an idea for a new reality show called ‘So you’ve been cancelled’ in which Jeremy Clarkson, Jordan Peterson and JK Rowling duke it out for top honours. This week’s second sponsor is Dan Gaskin at Crest Mortgages: https://www.crestmortgages.co.uk/ 0116 5023 000 Nick and Will Jones talk about the week’s most interesting stories in the Daily Sceptic and Toby and Nick discuss everybody’s favourite pantomime villain in Davos and Toby tries to persuade Nick that Klaus Schwab isn’t quite as powerful as he pretends to be, while Nick delivers a sobering rejoinder… This week’s last sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://www.thorholt.com/, https://thorholt.substack.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor’s meet up) And… Peak Woke is back!
