India picked up another win over New Zealand, as Virat Kohli played another Cricket World Cup masterclass. His 96 guaranteed India would win, despite Daryl Mitchell making a ton for New Zealand earlier in the day. Yesterday England imploded v South Africa leaving their World Cup hopes all but over. Despite Ben Stokes returning to the team England were woeful. South Africa racked up almost 400, with Heinrich Klaasen starring for them again. The Cricket World Cup rumbles on with Australia losing to South Africa. This puts the Australians in crisis mode, as they look for answers before their World Cup campaign comes to premature end. England v Bangladesh was a one sided affair, in their second game of the Cricket World Cup. Joe Root, Dawid Malan and the boys posted a huge score. In response Bangladesh didn't really do anything. As an early innings spell from Reece Topley effectively ended the chase before it began. Later Pakistan took on Sri Lanka in a thriller. Kusal Mendis was brutal once more, and was ably backed up by Samarawickrama. However, in response, and pursuing a record score to win a Cricket World Cup game, Pakistan were excellent. Virat Kolhi helped the Indian team beat Australia in a low scoring game in Chennai. This gets their 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup campaign off to a great start. Pakistan took on the Netherlands in both team's first game of the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. Batting first, Pakistan were given a big scare by the Netherlands, who took early wickets and had Pakistan rocking after the fall of Babar Azam. Saud Shakheel and Rizwan were able to stead the ship though and despite wickets for Bas de Leede, Pakistan managed to reach a good score of 286. In response Netherlands did threaten a couple of times, as Bas de Leede, once again, batted very well.
