Nell Frizzell - You're Booked

This week, we are delighted to present a very funny, thoughtful and free-flowing conversation with a very old friend of the podcast, Nell Frizzell! We've been dreaming of having Nell appear on the show since it began, so we're delighted to finally get the chance to chat. Nell is an author, journalist and podcaster. Her first novel was the hilarious Square One, while her first book, The Panic Years, dealt with womanhood, motherhood and... panic. Her latest is Holding the Baby, a memoir on parenting that culminates in a manifesto. We talked to Nell about fantastic literary fathers, the forbidden fruit of Bridget Jones, great fictional witches and deliberately not finishing a book because you love it so much.  For your chance to appear on the podcast, pre-order Daisy's next book Limelight from Bookshop.org. Details of Daisy's event in Bath with Pineapple Street author Jenny Jackson are here.BOOKSNell Frizzell - Square OneNell Frizzell - Holding the BabyNell Frizzell - The Panic YearsMelissa Fu - Peach Blossom SpringAnne Bronte - Tenant of Wildfell HallArundhati Roy - God of Small ThingsBarbara Comyns - Our Spoons Came From WoolworthsLemn Sissay - My Name is WhyJane Austen - Sense and SensibilityRob Delaney - Heart That WorksElizabeth Strout - Lucy By the SeaDavid Nichols - UsElizabeth Strout - Oh WilliamJonathan Coe - BournevilleJonathan Coe - Rotters ClubJonathan Coe - What a Carve UpKatherine Heiny - Early Morning RiserHelen Fielding - Bridget Jones's DiaryHelen Fielding - Cause CelebreJacqueline Susan - Valley of the DollsTony Bradman - Sam the Girl DetectiveKaye Umansky - PongwiffySpike Milligan - Badjelly Korky Paul and Valerie Thomas - Winnie the WitchVikram Seth - Suitable BoyVikram Seth - Equal MusicJohanna Spyri - HeidiRoald Dahl - Fantastic Mr FoxBill Bryson - Notes From a Small IslandBill Bryson - The BodyBill Bryson - Down UnderArthur Conan Doyle - Sherlock HolmesMichael Palin - Hemingway's ChairCesca Major - Maybe Next TimeNaomi Wood - Mrs HemingwayMartha Gellhorn - Travels with Myself and AnotherDervla Murphy - Wheels Within WheelsFreya Stark - Valleys of the AssassinsRosita Boland - ElsewhereMary Wollstonecraft - Letters from Sweden, Norway and DenmarkMusa Okwonga - One of ThemJilly Cooper - ClassLeo Tolstoy - Anna KareninaJilly Cooper - RidersJosie Long - Because I Don't Know What You Mean And What You Don't Jean Rhys - Voyage in the DarkNella Larsen - PassingSarah Gilmartin - Dinner PartyPhilip Larkin - Whitsun WeddingsRose Tremain - The ColourAJ Pearce - Mrs Porter CallingAJ Pearce - Dear Mrs BirdTim Burrows - Invention of EssexHenry James - The EuropeansClover Stroud - My Wild & Sleepless NightsKaty Wix - DelicacyAlice Vincent - RootboundAmy Liptrot - The InstantSteve Jones - Call TimeIan Fleming - Casino RoyaleChelsea Conaboy - Mother BrainRosie Kinchen - Ballast SeedPaul Morgan-Bentley - Equal ParentPhilip Larkin - A Girl in WinterLuiza Sauma - Everything You Ever WantedLuiza Sauma - Flesh & Bone & WaterMary Beard - Good Working Mother's Guide Hosted on Acast.
