Jason DeRouchie's book "How to Understand and Apply the Old Testament" covers the details talked about in this episode (see pages 2-5). 

Jason and Tom argue a knowledge of Hebrew and Greek isn't necessary in order to faithfully preach/teach/understand God's word. Hard work, however, is always necessary. Use good translations and resources available in your own heart language.

Jason and Tom talk about differences between Kings and Chronicles. The writers of these books were doing very different things. Preachers, teachers, and readers need to be aware of differences between the books and resist the temptation to turn them into one book.
