Blocked Party
Stefan Heck & John Cullen
This was a show about being blocked on the internet from Stefan Heck and John Cullen. However, the internet is dead, and so are we. This main feed will remain active so you can listen all of our past episodes, and we will occasionally post something from the bonus feed for free for you to enjoy. We are still doing bonus episodes over on at patreon.com/blockedparty. We'll see ya there!

Episode 82: Savannah Erasmus v. Her Ex
We're back in studio again and this time, everyone is here! We're joined by our first in-studio guest in three months, Savannah Erasmus (comedian), who has the most powerful block in the show's history, a flex that will be talked about for episodes to come. We also talk dating in quarantine, Paw Patrol, the Royal Family, The Last of Us 2, and John gets contracted to do a very strange gig. PLUS! We lay plans for a Dan-only episode and talk about the celebrities we had crushes on as kids. If you want us to have a crush on you, you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month (plus access to the whole back catalogue! That's like 50 episodes waiting for you right now!). This month is shaping up to be a doozy, as we already released another edition of our famous Word Up! series, where we review awful celebrity Cameos, and coming soon, John is finally going to eat his first Big Mac and we're gonna film it, Peep This Out-style. It's gonna be a good month, don't miss out. Savannah Erasmus is a comedian and storyteller who produces the Millennial Line show and can be found on Instagram at @_notsavannah. Episode 81: Alex Goldman v. Zappin_Liberals
The Blocked Boys are back, baby! In studio, that is. With the COVID restrictions in BC allowing social gatherings of up to 6, the BBs get together in the BPHQ Studio for the first time since March, and we haven't missed a beat. Well, we think, anyway. And who better to celebrate our return with than one of our most popular guests ever, the returning Alex Goldman (Reply All), who treats us to a lovely Block Tale as he gets blocked by some right-wing account called, and we are not making this up, @Zappin_Liberals. The BBs also have some time to talk childhood memories, New York Times op-eds, Boogie Cousins' best dunk, and the most cathartic moment of the Black Lives Matter/Defund the Police movement thus far. If you're in search of more cathartic moments, you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where your money will get you access to three bonus episodes every month. This month, we've got a Cameo episode coming up AND John will finally film his tribute to Peep This Out!, as he tries his first Big Mac ever. Conversely, you could ignore all that and donate to a worthy cause in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, or a women's shelter in your area. If you have enough money to support those causes and us, wonderful. If you don't, I think we all know where your money should go, and it isn't to us. Alex Goldman is the co-host of the podcast Reply All and you can look for his new project, The Scaredy Cat Horror Show, out now on Spotify. He can be followed on Twitter at @AGoldmund. Episode 80: Grace Spelman v. Kevin Spacey
In an episode that was recorded a week ago and thus feels like it was recorded eons ago, Grace Spelman (writer, musician) joins the show to talk about being blocked by Kevin Spacey, but not for any of the reasons you'd suspect. Call it serendipitous for Grace, given what we learned about Mr. Spacey after, but a very funny block nonetheless. As we said, this episode was recorded in what feels like a more breezy time, when the world was wracked by a devastating virus, and we find some time to touch on that as John shares one of the craziest COVID stories we've heard yet. The Blocked Boys also get into trips to Disney theme parks, video games, musicians we could beat up, and Stefan brings back "Real or Fake", but this time with Marilyn Manson quotes. CW: This episode features a brief retelling of the Mr. Buckles story, which contains a story of animal death (no cruelty or violence). This story is told from 47:35-48:55, if you wish to avoid it. You can also donate to our Patreon at https://patreon.com/blockedparty. We do bonus episodes there, it's fun. You could also instead donate to any one of the numerous worthy causes that need your help right now, whether it be for bailing protestors out of jail or supporting the Black/Indigenous community where you live. We stand with those communities and with those who are standing up in protests across the nation. Grace Spelman's new show "That's My Jam" is coming out soon, and she can be followed on Twitter and Instagram at @GraceSpelman. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Episode 79: Charles v. John Podhoretz
Our one-named friend Charles (@Ugarles, Hostile Witness podcast) makes his show debut having an argument about religion with noted dumbass and bad Twitter guy John Podhoretz that follows the classic "I've lost this argument, so I will block you instead of admitting defeat" pattern, and it's a delight. Recording the episode a little earlier in the day than usual gets the Blocked Boys talking about coffee as Stefan ponders his new life in a gaming chair. The BBs also find time to talk about the MCU and Star Wars before the social media updates get truly wild and we get into sovereign citizen videos, the Armageddon commentary track, and Stefan has a surprise for John from an old friend. We love old friends but we also love new friends, and if you want to be one of our new friends, you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. This month, however, we're stepping it up to FOUR in the name of content in the time of Covid. And it's sweet content too, as we get a Clara Jeffery block trifecta on a bonus episode with Street Fight Radio's Bryan Quinby, and coming up this week, we debut our brand-new episode type HIGH FIVERR, where we look at all the worst things the gig commerce website Fiverr.com has to offer. We have even bigger plans for June, so you won't wanna miss it! Charles is the host of the Hostile Witness podcast and can be followed on Twitter at @Ugarles. Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 78: Ashley Feinberg v. Lena Dunham
Ashley Feinberg (writer) makes her first appearance on the show a memorable one, as she gives us one of the best Block Tales of all-time, a block that starts in the emails and ends up on Twitter as she questions Lena Dunham's weird relationship with her pets. Speaking of weird relationships, John tells Stefan and Ashley about the dream he had the night before involving the podcast and Phoebe Bridgers, amidst reminiscing on the childhood game of jinx. The BBs also manage to find time to tackle Ron Jeremy saving a tree, Brendan Fraser, Stefan pranking Your Kickstarter Sucks using Animal Crossing, and an r/relationships post involving roleplay. If you want to roleplay as an extremely cool person, you can do so by donating to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to a bunch of delightful bonus goodies including access to our Discord and THREE bonus episodes every month. And hell, this month, we're doing FOUR bonus episodes because of quarantine times, with two already posted--a mailbag with Producer Dan and our live show with Will Weldon--and two to come, including one with Street Fight Radio's Bryan Quinby this week and another that will debut a brand-new bonus episode type, all about the website Fiverr. It's gonna be a big month and you don't wanna miss it! Ashley Feinberg is a writer for Slate known for her internet sleuthing and can be found on Twitter at @AshleyFeinberg. Episode 77: Lydia Burrell v. Ryan Saavedra
Lydia Burrell (musician, comedian) joins the show and since Stefan failed to explain the concept of the show to him properly, delivers a litany of blocks including Steven Crowder and his own governor before concluding with his favourite, right-wing reporter Ryan Saavedra. LB just couldn't help pointing out to Saavedra that he resembles a certain reptile, and well...it goes from there. This episode is equally all over the place, as LB shares the worst COVID-19 parody songs from YouTube, Stefan shares the worst TV theme song of all-time and a thriller movie trailer with an unlikely star, and John tells a joke so heinous that we're forced to introduce a brand-new $500 Patreon tier for it. You know what doesn't cost $500? A monthly donation to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where in fact just $5 gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every month, including this week's bonus episode where Producer Daniel makes his show debut in an exclusive mailbag episode where we answer YOUR listener questions! There are some shocking admissions and it gets truly crazy. Plus, the video bonus episode of Blocked Party TV with Will Weldon, and some more wonderful things are all coming up later this month! Join today! Lydia Burrell hosts both a Twitch stream and radio show called "Big Howell and Possum", and his musical comedy can be found on YouTube. He is on Twitter at @LydiaBurrell. Episode 76: Molly Lambert v. SKD Knickerbocker
Molly Lambert (writer, Night Call) scoops up one of the most prestigious blocks in an election year: the Public Affairs Agency that represents Joe Biden and many others, after she discovers one of their prime tactics for “managing crisis” (it’s dumb and bad). It’s some serious political talk, but we manage to temper that with our usual silliness, as the Blocked Boys get into elementary school Sports Day, creating weird beverage combos as kids, and a brand-new Patreon tier: John drinks the Ben Bartch chaos smoothie. We also tackle Canadian television, Megan McArdle’s insane coronavirus theory, and John ends the show with another one of his classic “bad food opinions”. If you want more bad opinions (but great content), you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to three bonus episodes every single month! Plus our whole back catalogue! By the time you listen to it all, we’ll be licking each other’s ice creams again! After a long wait, we finally have the video episode up where Stefan teaches John how to play Hearthstone, and this month, we’ll have the Will Weldon video bonus episode from last Friday where we watch a bunch of strange internet stuff together, a mailbag, and much more. You also get access to our Discord for the $5, a great and fun server with a wonderful community. Join today! Molly Lambert is a writer and podcaster who hosts the very popular Night Call podcast with Tess Lynch and Emily Yoshida. She can be found on Twitter at @mollylambert. Episode 75: Branson Reese v. Scott Adams
One of our favourite targets is BACK, baby! Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert, returns with a vengeance, and Branson Reese (artist, Rude Tales of Magic) is here to tell us how he managed to get blocked by the trigger-happy cartoonist turned horny, right-leaning weirdo. This episode gets wild right off the hop, as the boys reminisce about a story submitted to their previous podcast regarding Mr. Buckles, a child's pet who met a very tragic end, and it only gets wilder from there as we delve into the chaos breakfast of an NFL offensive tackle draftee, fighting with your childhood friends over video games, and the chonky baby. Plus, Stefan walks us through his crazy week on Twitter, as he tricked multiple journalists into thinking the Steak'Umms Twitter guy was the son of Branch Davidian leader David Koresh. Like we said, this episode is wild. CW: this episode contains a story about animal death, however, there is no cruelty or abuse involved. It is found on the show from 4:00-11:20, if you wish not to hear it. Something you might wish to hear though? Bonus episodes! That's right! Bonuses! More of this show! Head on over to https://patreon.com/blockedparty for THREE bonus episodes every damn month. This month, we had the boys from YKS on the show for a wild time, plus we have one video episode up, the live Cameo episode with Jamie Loftus and coming this week, Stefan teaches John how to play the online card game Hearthstone! We also have newsletters, a fantastic Discord server, and other perks, so check it out! Branson Reese is an artist/cartoonist who has a book of his work coming out in June on Oni Press called "Hell Was Full" and hosts a live-play D&D podcast called "Rude Tales of Magic". Episode 74: Graham Clark v. The Cast of American Pie
Graham Clark (comedian, Stop Podcasting Yourself) returns to the show and does something few of our guests have tried to do, in that he tries to get blocked just so he can be on the program. Not only does the brave Graham try to get blocked, but he tries to get blocked by the entire cast of 1999 teen horndog film American Pie, and resorts to bribery to do it. Is he successful? You'll have to listen to find out. Before Graham even reveals his Block Tale, The Blocked Boys talk 90s movies as John and Becca continue their rewatching of nostalgic classics, and that dovetails into talk of Harrison Ford, Will Smith, Keanu Reeves, and giant spiders. Elsewhere, we go in on cereal, candy, quarantine snacks, isolation protestors, Muppets, and Stefan's birthday. If you want to celebrate like it's your birthday, you can do so by donating to our Patreon at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5 a month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every dang month. This month, we had the boys from Your Kickstarter Sucks on the show, plus we have our live bonus with Jamie Loftus coming up AND Stefan teaches John how to get even more online by learning the digital card game Hearthstone. We have a newsletter tier as well, where John revealed this week he's rewatching Entourage, and a great Discord community you can also get in on. Check it all out on Patreon right now and support your favourite BBs. Graham Clark is currently selling beard paintings for the Vancouver Food Bank and you can ask him about commissions at his twitter, @grahamclark. He is also one half of the wildly successful comedy podcast, Stop Podcasting Yourself, which can be found at @stoppodcasting. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Episode 73: Alison Stevenson v. Mindy Kaling
Alison Stevenson (writer, comedian) joins us to help get to the bottom of a mystery John calls "The Mindy Project": why did Mindy Kaling block her? It's another Block Tale where we try and help our guest get unblocked, as she cannot figure out how or why she got blocked and tries to enlist our help. Speaking of needing help, Stefan requires some help with his damn goatee, as he's finally given up on trying to grow a full quarantine beard and has now become a "Goatee Guy". The Blocked Boys also learn about the business of dick pics, who the New Hope Club are, and Stefan gives us an update on the COVID-19 truthers he talked about on the show a few weeks prior. If you want to make sure you are always fully updated, you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5 a month gets you access to THREE full bonus episodes, every single month. We have a big month coming up in April, as we try to bring some sweet medicine to your self-isolation in the form of a video episode featuring Stefan teaching John to play Hearthstone, a "live" episode watching bad Cameos with Jamie Loftus, and another edition of BPxYKS, where Jesse Farrar and Michael Hale join the boys for a fun hangout episode where we laugh and talk about the good ol' times. It's gonna be a great month and we appreciate all of your support during these weird times. Alison Stevenson has a show on Adult Swim called The Perfect Women, and she will critique your dick pic on Twitter at @JustAboutGlad. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
