S32E10 - Empowering Your Managers to Successfully Scale Your Business, with Sean McAuliffe

In this HCI Podcast episode, Dr. Jonathan H. Westover (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathanhwestover/) talks with Sean McAuliffe about empowering your managers to successfully scale your business. See the video here: https://youtu.be/2ekKMtmA4LA. Sean McAuliffe (https://linkedin.com/in/mcauliffesean) is the Founder of Huey.io. Huey is an interactive org chart tool that integrates with Slack. Sean was inspired to create Huey after going through successive mergers with his last company, International Key Supply. Although Sean started International Key Supply from his basement apartment, he was able to bootstrap it to 10-figure revenue and over 40 employees. Eventually, International Key Supply merged with several other companies in private equity-backed deals. All of a sudden, there were over 200 employees in the company and Sean, and his team, kept finding themselves asking “Who do I need to speak with to get x done, and how do I get a hold of them?” This is why he built Huey. Huey is built to empower every employee in an organization to find the colleague they need quickly and efficiently through its Slack integration. When he’s not working, you can find Sean spending time with his wife and 3 daughters or driving race cars somewhere. S32E3 - Inspiring TED Talks Rewind - Less Stuff, More Happiness, with Graham Hill

In this "Inspiring TED Talks Rewind" HCI Podcast episode, Dr. Jonathan H. Westover (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathanhwestover/) explores Graham Hill's 2011 TED Talk, "Less Stuff, More Happiness" (Originally aired March 8, 2021). He makes the case for taking up less space, and lays out three rules for editing your life." Graham Hill is the founder of LifeEdited, dedicated to helping people design their lives for more happiness with less stuff. When he started the company in 2010, it brought the ideas of his previous project, the eco-blog and vlog TreeHugger.com, into design and architecture. (The TreeHugger team joined the Discovery Communications network as a part of their Planet Green initiative, and Hill now makes appearances on the green-oriented cable channel.) Before Treehugger, Hill studied architecture and design (his side business is making those cool ceramic Greek coffee cups). His other company, ExceptionLab, is devoted to creating sustainable prototypes -- think lamps made from recycled blinds and ultra-mod planters that are also air filters.
