Today’s guests are Dave Lewis, Associate Director at ADAPT Centre and Brian McElligott, Partner and Head of AI at Mason Hayes & Curran who will discuss The AI Act. Dave is an associate professor in the school of computer science and statistics and Trinity College Dublin. He is the director of the SFI-funded ADAPT Centre for Digital Content Technology, and coordinates the EU-funded PROTECT multidisciplinary doctoral training network. He investigates open models for trustworthy AI and data governance and collaborate with the National Standards Authority of Ireland in developing international standards in these areas. Brian is an experienced Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence lawyer who is focused on delivering understandable and actionable solutions for clients, particularly in the AI regulatory space. He's had the benefit of a great mix of private practice and in-house experience in the AI and IP spaces, including operationalising and commercialising AI platforms and solutions.
