Brandon Jennings
L.A. native and former Bucks star Brandon Jennings sits down with the guys for this week’s episode of Season 3 of Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles. Q and D first knew Brandon as the ball boy from those Westchester High games back in the day, but soon enough they knew him as one of the top high school recruits in the country. The guys ask Brandon about his decision to go pro overseas straight out of high school, a choice that made him the first of many to do so. But Brandon’s clearly not afraid to be the first at anything: He also talks about being the first basketball player to sign a shoe deal with Under Armour. Q and D ask who the best players overseas were, and Brandon names Ricky Rubio and Luka Doncic, adding that he’s not surprised by Luka’s dominance in the NBA. Brandon then admits that Gilbert Arenas was the first to bust his ass when he got to the league — and that Gil even told him he was going to do so right before the game. But they also talk about that time Brandon proved himself as a rookie, dropping 55 points in his seventh game in the league. Q and D ask about his clothing brand, Tuff Crowd, and the sentiment behind the name. Brandon tells some stories about hooping at Rucker Park, and his time playing for the Knicks. He also names his top three life moments: meeting MJ, meeting AI and meeting Obama. Darius asks Brandon how much he made his first year hooping in Rome as a teenager, and the number had Q going back in time thinking about his first year in college, just trying to get that little Pell Grant! The guys close out the show discussing their favorite players in the league to watch.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Shawn Marion
The Matrix, aka Shawn Marion, joins the fellas on this week’s episode of Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles! One of the most underrated NBA players of all time looks back on his unlikely ascension from barely recruited high schooler to standout JUCO player to one-season star at UNLV. Q remembers the first time he met Shawn, at a Jordan camp where The Matrix was shocking everybody by putting on a show amid the nation’s elite. Then Shawn talks about getting to the NBA, where he was the only rookie on the Suns in 1999 — and why that situation really helped him in the long run. He reveals what it was like to play with Jason Kidd and how that experience gave him so much confidence. Then it’s time for a little reminiscence about the 2004 Suns, when Q came aboard, and just why that team was so damn good. Shawn lays out the crucial importance of his shift to the four spot and then takes time to point out just how impressive it was that, at 6'7", he could hold his own against the toughest position in the Western Conference. Speaking of impressive, do you know who the first player in NBA history to have 15,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 1,000 blocks and 500 threes was? Yup, The Matrix. Shawn then talks about moving around the league a bit and how hungry he was to win a championship. Shawn bounced from Phoenix to Miami (actually learning he’d been traded in the middle of his own Super Bowl party) and made a pit stop in Toronto before finally landing in Dallas. In 2009 that Mavericks team was special and they knew it. Shawn even remembers Jason Terry getting a championship trophy tattoo at the start of the season. That Dallas team would go on to beat the Heat in an epic run, propelled by a playing-out-of-his-mind Dirk Nowitzki. Shawn reveals that he and Dirk would play one-on-one every day after practice to get Dirk ready to face off against smaller guys. Shawn Marion had one hell of a career and you best not forget it — Trix is a must listen! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ty Young
The WNBA’s sultan of swag, Tamera (Ty) Young joins the guys on this week’s Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles. Ty starts off the show with a few stories about playing high school basketball for MJ’s alma mater, adding that –– no big deal –– she has MJ beat in points scored. She then talks about committing to James Madison and her loyalty to that commitment even after some more prestigious programs tried to scoop her up in the final hour. She wanted to prove she could make it to the WNBA from a mid-major, and when the Atlanta Dream drafted her eighth overall, there was nothing left to say except, “Mama, we made it.” Ty talks life in the league and what the new CBA means for the future of the women’s game. She speaks on her experience playing under coach Bill Laimbeer and gives a few reasons why he’s so respected by his players. The guys get all-time sneaker rankings from the Queen of Kicks herself and say just how crazy it is that she’s never been offered a shoe contract. Q and D ask about her longtime friendship with Chris Paul, which leads to Ty’s take on what makes CP3 unstoppable as a player. Before she has to head out, the guys ask for the origin story of her clothing line, TY1. The simple answer is … what else can you do when the league isn’t selling your jersey?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
