Everything In Conversation: Does Casual Dating Really Exist?
Paging EIC fans, we've got a controversial new extra episode for you... this week we're debating whether casual relationships exist for men and women in 2025.While Carrie Bradshaw made casual dating look easy, breezy (cover girl), why are women all around us struggling to enjoy the romantic fruits of this arrangement? We read a brilliant Substack that posited many are confusing 'casual' with complete nonchalance and lack of care instead. We get into the weeds of it all and share our own experiences of dating in this episode, along with your insightful thoughts. You can read her piece here!If you like this or any other episode could you please, please, please (à la Sabrina Carpenter) gift us a review on your podcast player app. Also if you fancy joining in in these episodes, give us a follow on IG at @everythingiscontentpod <3 Hosted on Acast. Salt Path Swindlers, Queer Ultimatums & Brad Pitt's PR Machine
Happy Friday EIC-heads, we're back with another dose of content. On Saturday The Observer published an investigation by writer Chloe Hadjimatheou into the bestselling book The Salt Path and the couple behind it. The film adaptation was also just released about 6 weeks ago and stars Gillian Anderson and Oscar Isaac as the couple. The book has been billed by the Guardian as 'A beautiful, thoughtful, lyrical story of homelessness, human strength and endurance' 'Luminescent. A literary phenomenon' by Mail on Sunday and “a beautiful story and a reminder that humans can endure adversity' Stylist. But as Chloe Hadjimatheou discovers, it may also be a little too good to be true...Next up, Ruchira's been utterly obsessed with Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Queer Love series 2 or what everyone actually calls it i.e. Queer Ultimatum. The series brings six couples together. Each of these couples have one person who desperately wants to get married and one who doesn’t. The latter have been issued an ultimatum by their partner I.e go on this show with me and by the end if you don’t change your mind we break up. We discuss! And lastly, we need to talk about Brad Pitt. Allegations against him have been in the public eye for years now, so why is he still, Hollywood's golden boy?We hope you enjoy, and always, thank you so much for listening. We attempt to get to the bottom of all of this and more with the help from all of you lovely listeners. Everything In Conversation: Wearable Health-Tech Paranoia
Happy Wednesday, it's time for our weekly chat, wahooo.A recent piece in the New York Times asked Is All of This Self-Monitoring Making Us Paranoid? It was all about wearable health technology such as Oura rings. Oura rings are smart devices worn on the finger that contain sensors so you can track over 20 biometrics such as sleep, movement, body temperature, stress, menstrual cycles and something called daily readiness. They’re between around £350 and £500, which I don’t believe covers a subscription to data and insights, which is an additional monthly or yearly fee, and they promise to “empower you to prioritise your long term health goals and build healthy habits that will last a lifetime.” The New York Times piece is really interesting, and explores how this kind of data isn’t always a gateway to good physical health habits, but can for some people, increase their anxiety and unhealthy body monitoring habits. We get into it and hear from you, the listeners, too!We hope you enjoy, and as always please do follow + review the show on your podcast player app as it helps others to find the podcast :)O,R,B xIs All of This Self-Monitoring Making Us Paranoid? Height Filters, Sundress Fever & TikTok Weddings
Welcome back EICuties! This week on the podcast, we have to make an apology to an unlikely couple before we get into the long and short of the latest internet discourse- height filters on dating apps, after Tinder announced that they were joining other apps in allowing users to filter potential matches by how tall they are. Are the short men correct that this is blatant discrimination or is it just a harmless preference? Next up we're discussing a social media wedding event after influencer Jaz Smith revealed the spreadsheet and planning that allowed her to post in real time through her recent nuptials. How many TikToks is too many TikToks for the happiest day of your life? 10? 20? 100? We discuss what it means to live a life so heavily online and if anything is really sacred anymore. Everything In Conversation: Justin Bieber & Bad Wife Guys
Hallelujah! You've made it halfway to the weekend. To celebrate: a brand spanking new episode of Everything In Conversation. Corrrrr, aren't you lucky? This week's midweek investigation is all about Justin Bieber's controversial Instagram caption, in which he revealed an argument where he told wife Hailey that she'd never be on the cover of Vogue. The post, which was to celebrate Hailey Bieber being on the cover of Vogue, divided audiences. Some say he's showing growth and accountability, other's have labelled him narcissistic & cruel. With the help of the listeners we go on a conversational jaunt that takes into the heart of bad husbands, via the politics of posting about rough patches and into the land of our own worst examples of male invalidation. We hope you enjoy this episode. If you've read this far- I bet you were a pleasure to teach and always handed in your homework. So here's some more: we really rely on good reviews and ratings to help us grow and keep making the podcast, so we'd love if you could leave us a kind word and a cheeky five stars. Thank you so much.
