Everything In Conversation: What It's Really Like To Be A Child Star with Alyson Stoner

A dream guest has joined the EIC studios... this week we're joined by actor, singer and dancer Alyson Stoner. Any child of the 90s and 00s will have grown up with Alyson on their screens. They were in Step Up, Cheaper By The Dozen, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Camp Rock and have since become a sharp analyst on the fame and the entertainment industry online. They've just released a memoir of their upbringing as a child star and (for the first time) shared details of acting from aged three, developing and seeking help for an eating disorder and having their finances mismanaged by their team. It's an incredible conversation and we feel so honoured to have had it. Ozempic Menus, London's Real Housewives & (eek!) Taylor Swift

TGIF from EIC! Let's just get into it, shall we?The first episode of Real Housewives of London aired this week and so of course, we're discussing it. What do we make of the franchise's latest crop of rich, glamorous and fiery women? Could this series hold a candle to earlier iterations or are British sensibilities too... sensible?Up next, the potential impact of weight loss drugs on restaurants and hospitality. Is fine dining falling victim to shrinking appetites and growing disinterest in food as a result of wider use of GLP-1s? We also discuss the upcoming Mounjoro price hike. Finally, we're risking it all and talking about Taylor Swift. Last week we learnt that the high empress of pop was releasing her 12th album The Life of a Showgirl. While some fans are a little confused/fatigued, we actually might be the most on board we've ever been.Pleeease could you vote for us in the British Podcast Awards Listener’s Choice category here? We’re in the top 20 and it would make our year if made the shortlist! Everything In Conversation: Molly-Mae & Mum Shaming

Roll up, roll up! The EICircus is in town and for this week's extra episode we're discussing Molly Mae and the epidemic of mum shaming.Since having her daughter Bambi in 2023, the influencer Molly Mae Hague has been at the epicentre of all kind's of scrutiny, and perhaps never more so than when she candidly shared her frustration at having done "nothing fun" all summer. Does a multi millionaire girl boss and influencer extraordinaire have a right to complain that mothering leaves little room for other things? Is she being ungrateful or is this exactly what we've been begging public figures to do for years? Thanks so much for your thoughts on this & let us know what you made of the episode/ this discussion on Instragam @everythingiscontentpod or in our comments.O, R, B xSubstack - Molly Mae Not Hosted on Acast. Everything In Conversation: Pamela Anderson & Liam Neeson

Welcome to your Wednesday dose of content! It’s giving Baywatch meets Taken... Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson met while filming the 2025 reboot of The Naked Gun. For Vogue, Raven Smith writes, Why We're So In Love with Pam and Liam; ‘There’s an overarching feeling like Pamela Anderson is out of fucks. After years of pursuing a manicured perfection, she finally feels at home in her own skin—and she’s got a nice new beau. Life does not end at 58 (duh!), and though Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte are ending their onscreen tale of 50-somethings’ love lives, Pam’s is apparently only beginning… In these uncertain times, Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s idyll feels like just what the doctor called for. After decades of sun, sea, and sex tapes, the last showgirl has finally found love.’Neeson is a widower, who lost his beloved wife and fellow actor, Natasha Richardson, in a skiing accident in 2009. Many echo Raven’s sentiment, and are happy to see the silver fox find new love in later life, however, a few are left asking, did we forget what Liam Neeson said in 2019?Six years later can we forgive and forget? Is this another showmance? And how do we feel about this new Hollywood couple? Listen to find out! Thanks so much for listening, and for all of your comments and takes on the topic this week. First Dates, Personal Essays & The Trouble With Wanting Men

Happy Friday EICers, settle in we've got some problems to solve...this week on the podcast, we’re talking about the problem with personal essays, and the trouble with wanting men.For The Bookseller, Caroline O'Donoghue wrote a piece titled 'up close and personal: Why are female authors asked to bare their souls to promote their books?'. She writes 'My 25-year-old self wrote about her smear test because she was trying to crowbar her way into an industry that felt like a locked room. Now, at 35, I’m beginning to feel I’m trapped in a room that is locked from the inside.'Why do we not trust women to be as smart and as interesting story tellers as men, why do we need this level of emotional investment in female writers' lives to buy their work?Next up, The Trouble With Wanting Men. In a recent New York Times article of the same name, writer Jean Garnett asks what we as women should do with our desire when so many of find ourselves fed up of dating men. And she looks at this through the lens of “heteropessimism” or “heterofatalism” as it’s now been amended to, which is a term that was coined by sexuality scholar Asa Seresin in 2019 in a piece for the New Inquiry. And in this piece Seresin defines it as such “ Heteropessimism consists of performative disaffiliations with heterosexuality, usually expressed in the form of regret, embarrassment, or hopelessness about straight experience. Heteropessimism generally has a heavy focus on men as the root of the problem.” She goes on to discuss how, though sincere, this feeling most often isn’t accompanied by action, as most women who express it, will continue to date men.We hope you enjoy, as always please do rate & review :) B,R,O xxAND please vote for us in the British Podcast Awards listener nominations hereIn collaboration with CueRuchira's been loving FriendshipBeth's been loving First DatesOenone's been loving Jurassic World RebirthWhy Are Female Authors Asked To Bare Their Souls To Promote Their Books?Where''s The 'You'? - Naoise DolanThe Trouble With Wanting Men Hosted on Acast. Everything In Conversation: The Dark Side of Being A Digital Nomad

Welcome weary podcast traveller! Time to take a seat, kick off your dusty sandals and voyage with us, your hosts, into the murky land of digital nomad discourse. In a recent piece for The Guardian US, freelance journalist and former digital nomad Emily Bratt explores the less glamourous side of island hopping and beach bar working. She writes: "Somewhere around the midway mark of my most recent six-month trip, something happened. A whisper of a thought began to emerge at the back of my mind. By the final month, it was a pervasive shriek: What am I doing?” And in a world where more and more people are planning to ditch their desk and fixed address, we're forced to ask: is working on the move an F U to capitalism, or is it just the same old slog in slightly shorter trousers? Thank you so much for all of your comments and takes on this topic- they were as thought-provoking, sensitive and honest as always.
