Acorn Bluff Farms is based out of Columbus Junction, Iowa. It’s a first-generation pig farm started by two brothers who were looking for something to pour their hearts into. Seth and Keenan Todd, the founders of Acorn Bluff Farms, raise Mangalitsa pigs, which derive from the Hungarian Empire and were often fed to the Hapsburg Dynasty as part of the royal family’s cuisine. The special breed of pigs only recently made its way to the United States in the last 15 years. The breed is fattier, richer pork and somewhat resembles wagyu. We met Econoalchemist in a small town in western Colorado back in July. Econo, as we call him, studies bitcoin and its applications in society, but he also helps explain how people can start using the groundbreaking technology today. His experience in bitcoin reflects his philosophies around sovereignty, personal responsibility, and freedoms. In Colorado, Econo spoke about the ethos of bitcoin and how it relates to the struggles ranchers confront daily. In the winter of 2022, I had the pleasure of visiting Roam Ranch to attend a Bison Harvest. On that day, I met Taylor and Katie, and quickly became intrigued by their story of what brought them to Fredericksburg, Texas, to start (of all things) a Bison Ranch. The story begins with Taylor and Katie competing as competitive vegan endurance athletes and evolves from there. Within a short period, Taylor and Katie ran into serious health concerns and, based on a recommendation from a doctor, started eating meat. **SFuels saved us during this race and single-handedly got us to the finish line on Saturday. We’re looking forward to continuing to experiment with low-carb endurance with a 70.3 Ironman in Waco in October. Last Saturday, August 22nd, The Meat Mafia drove to Houston to test our meaty willpower and physical limits. And boy, did we get more than we asked for. We ran the Habanero 100k Race, appropriately named since it starts at noon in Houston (about 100 degrees at the start). As you’ll hear us describe, the race coordinators also thought it would be a good idea to lay down thousands of pounds of sand all over the course to make it more challenging.Luckily for us, we fueled really well (thank you SFuels) and felt great through the first portion of the race!
