GIG ‘EM & GOD BLESS | Carson Weber | Episode #190
Carson Weber, founder of On Fire Media, joins The BeatiDudes for a Fightin’ Texas Aggie Catholic bonus episode.During his early college years, Carson enjoyed the time and energy he invested in many of the student organizations and volunteer opportunities that Texas A&M University offered. While that time was enjoyable, he found his calling and made deep connections with new friends through the St. Mary’s Catholic Center. Hearing the incredible preaching of Fr. Michael Sis (now Bishop Sis) and getting involved with the various ministries available, including Aggie Awakening, set Carson’s life on a new course that would include a lifetime of Catechesis and evangelization. Texas A&M has one of the largest student bodies in the nation, with over 70,000 currently enrolled. About one-quarter of the students at Texas A&M identify as Catholic, and most of them are on fire, living their faith boldly every day. It is no wonder that St. Mary’s continues to churn out seminarians, religious sisters, Bishops, and new Catholic companies and apostolates. The movement of the spirit through St. Mary’s launches Aggie Catholics to live their vocations and proclaim the Gospel regardless of where their careers take them next. Take a trip down memory lane and enjoy the Aggieland reflections of co-hosts Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein with their special guest, Carson Weber. God Loves You, and Barbara Morgan Has a Plan for Your Life | Carson Weber | Episode #189 | Carson Weber | Episode #189
Carson Weber, founder of On Fire Media, discovered a way to work for the Church without working for the Church. Through his team’s branding expertise and focus on helping mission-driven companies, Carson has answered the call to catechesis. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Carson felt a calling in his heart. He wanted to spend more of his life studying and growing closer to Christ. This discernment led Carson to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, to work with Dr. Scott Hahn and earn his Master of Arts in Theology & Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Catechetic Theology. While at Franciscan, Carson learned that “God loves you, and Barbara Morgan has a plan for your life.” Upon meeting Barbara, Carson realized he was called to a life of catechesis. He also met his wife while working with Barbara. Five kids later, the Weber family credits the Holy Spirit working through Barbara for many of the great things in their lives. In 2012, Carson resigned from his diocesan position to pursue his entrepreneurial dream of working full-time from home to be more present as a husband and father to his growing family. He founded On Fire Media, a web development and digital marketing agency that serves commercial and non-profit entities, including Catholic parishes, ministries, and schools, through CatholicWebsite.com.This show was almost a bust due to technical issues, but thankfully, former BeatiDudes guest Alex Trevino saved the day and allowed Carson Weber to share his heart and his journey with Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein. The wild stories led to incredible blessings named Ava, Shamus, Ainsley, Ana, McKenzie, and Maeve, who now enjoy family dinners where they typically share their “high, low, and God moment” with each meal. Stephen’s life reflects the truth that “God gives you opportunities when you give him your fiat.” Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein couldn’t agree more. When it comes to our Lord and Savior, He GOTS us. God’s Marine Reporting for Duty | Stephen Henley | Episode #187
Ever a professional, the dandy-dressed Stephen Henley joins the BeatiDudes, Paul Kolker, Nick Bezner, and Jeff Schiefelbein, to talk about the journey of his life on the way to becoming the president of Legatus. Stephen spent two and a half years discerning the priesthood with the Legionaries of Christ, where he wrote his vocation story – aptly titled, God’s Marine. After discerning out of the seminar, the military theme continued, and Stephen joined the Marine Corps. During his time in the reserves, Stephen ended up in Florida, which proved to be an essential stop in his journey. Not only did he meet his wife during his time in the Sunshine State, but he also started his professional career by working at Ave Maria University. Like Legatus, Ave Maria was also started by Catholic business hero Tom Monaghan. Tom Monaghan founded Domino’s Pizza after being raised in orphanages and accidentally joining the Marine Corps. With much business and professional success, Tom searched for a place for executives to gather for Christ. After an impactful encounter with Saint Pope John Paul II, Tom was inspired to launch Legatus. In Latin, Legatus means ambassador, and that is exactly what Tom was promoting for Presidents, CEOs, and their spouses to become - Ambassadors for God. Stephen’s working relationship with Tom stemmed from a period when Tom required a driver while recovering from wrist surgery. Twenty years later, Stephen is now the President of Legatus. Legatus has 90 chapters across North America and is continuing to expand with new, more domestic and international chapters on the horizon. The purpose of Legatus is to study, live, and spread the Catholic faith in the personal, business, and professional lives of executives and their spouses. Stephen and his wife have six children and happily reside in Michigan.
