Christmas is over and I hope you all had a wonderful time with friends and family and didn’t go over-board on the turkey, ham and wine?!The days between Christmas and New Year are a great time to take stock, look back and reflect on the year and life in general, and so for this week’s Real Health podcast, I sit down with one of Ireland’s most famous and controversial journalists who is now the host of his own hugely popular podcast, The Stand, Eamon Dunphy.I wanted to speak to Eamon about his life and career, from the highs and lows, to finding out about the mental stress of being in the spotlight. How do you deal with a life of notoriety and fame? And now aged 74, he talks to me frankly about the future, what it may hold and why he’s not afraid of what’s to come.I hope you enjoy the interview as you spend some time relaxing after Christmas Day and I will be back in the New Year with some great tips and advice for starting 2020 in the best possible way.For more episodes, tips and advice from the show just go to:www.independent.ie/podcasts/the-re…health-podcast/And you can get in touch - I’m @KarlHenryPT on Instagram and Twitter and realhealth@independent.ie.Don't forget to rate, review and subscribe on Apple and Google Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts from. The Real Health podcast is in association with Laya Healthcare.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Hangover Episode with Dr. Sumi Dunne
Christmas is just around the corner and the party season is in full swing, but have you been over-indulging and enjoying yourself a bit too much? Have you been hit with the dreaded hangover yet or perhaps not looking forward to it happening? On this week's Real Health I've got the answers for you with Ireland's favourite GP, Dr. Sumi Dunne.Sumi explains what a hangover is, what happens to your body (and head), what to do and what not to do and how you can help to get over from its symptoms the next day.Sumi also tells me about certain drinks that have a tendency to cause more hangovers than others and what the best over-the-counter solution to buy is. Plus, if there's one piece of information to take away, it's to remember that each unit of alcohol takes one hour to process from the last drink that you've had, so please do drink safely and responsibly and everyone will have a great Christmas in the process. For more episodes, tips and advice from the show just go to:www.independent.ie/podcasts/the-re…health-podcast/And you can get in touch - I’m @KarlHenryPT on Instagram and Twitter and realhealth@independent.ie.Don't forget to rate, review and subscribe on Apple and Google Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts from. The Real Health podcast is in association with Laya Healthcare.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
