How to Jump Start Joy in Your Life with guest Paula Jenkins

You all have heard me talk about Producer Paula Jenkins. She helps get The Egg Whisperer Show on the air, on YouTube, and everywhere. But, what you might not know is that she is a podcaster with her very own show (Jump Start Your Joy) and for the last year, she's been talking all about how you can find joy in the messy middle. So, when she published her first book I knew it was time for her to come on and share her joy-filled wisdom with all of us, and so I'm delighted to have her join me today on the show. What I love about Paula is that she finds joy even in the hard times, and in unexpectedly difficult situations. And, we could all use more of that right now. Paula is a podcast producer, a certified life coach, and studied religion at Yale. Her mission is to bring more joy into the world in the work that she does, and her first book is Jump Start Your Joy: Heart-Centered Ways to Find Joy in the Messy Middle. I'm 44 with a history of miscarriage. I just discovered I'm pregnant. What can I do to monitor this pregnancy? (Ask the Egg Whisperer)

In this episode, a listener sends in a question to Dr. Aimee. Here's what she asks, "My partner and I have been trying to have a child I'm 44 years of age, and my partner is 36. I've had two successful prior pregnancies, and we also lost two pregnancies after conceiving naturally. The losses occurred around weeks 10 and weeks 12. But now I found out that I'm pregnant and after having tested positive for HCG and missed my period by only a few days. Here are my questions. I know that my eggs are old and that this embryo may not hold. Is there a way that a specialist can monitor the early stages of pregnancy to see if this egg is a good or bad one? It's troubling to think that I have to wait for my 10 week mark and possibly miscarry. My partner and I don't want to go through another miscarriage, understanding that I'm in the 8 to 10% chance of having a good egg. Any thoughts on if I should let this one go or write it off given my previous history?" Fertility Preservation Options for Cancer Patients with guest Tracy Weiss

Today on the podcast, I'm sharing part two of a two part series of interviews with the founders of The Chick Mission which is a national foundation that is working together to preserve hope, sanity, and choice for women battling cancer. They are focused on making sure that all women diagnosed with cancer have the financial support, educational information, and legislative advocacy to preserve their fertility. After personal experiences, founders Amanda Rice and Tracy Weiss came together to make sure that all cancer patients have a full life with options to grow a family, after they beat the disease. Tracy Weiss is the Executive Director of Chick Mission. She is also a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with cancer at the age 30. Her insurance company denied her claim to preserve her fertility, describing it as an ‘elective’ procedure. Tracy partnered with Amanda to start The Chick Mission to help other women facing the same challenges. Read the article on Dr. Aimee's Website. Fertility Preservation Options for Cancer Patients with guest Amanda Rice

Today on the podcast, I'm airing part one of a two part series of interviews with the founders of The Chick Mission, which is a national foundation that is working to preserve hope, sanity, and choice for women battling cancer. And, they are focused on making sure that all women diagnosed with cancer have the financial support, educational information, and legislative advocacy to preserve their fertility. After personal experiences, founders Amanda Rice and Tracy Weiss came together to make sure that all cancer patients have a full life with options to grow a family. Today’s interview is with Amanda Rice, who is the Founder and a 3-time Cancer Survivor. The Chick Mission hatched when Amanda's fertility preservation coverage was denied by her insurance company. After chemo, radiation and long-term drug therapy, she started fertility treatment. She’s focused on helping other patients find ways to cover the costs of fertility preservation, as socioeconomic standing should not be a factor in anyone wanting to pursue having biological children after they are diagnosed with cancer. My husband has male factor oligoasthenoteratozoospermia. Should we do IVF? (Ask the Egg Whisperer)

Recently, April wrote in to Ask The Egg Whisperer a question. She and her husband are 40, and he was diagnosed with male factor oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (OAT). His sperm meet the criteria for IVF, and here is what she asks, "We were given surprisingly good odds for success and I’m skeptical.I’ve had one successful pregnancy 15 years ago. Our doctor gave us 60-70% chance of pregnancy using ivf, icsi and genetic testing of embryos. Do you feel this is an accurate assessment of our odds of success? Or is the clinic just trying to get us to do ivf by sugar coating things?" Tune in to hear my answer to this question, and 9 others be sure and tune in to this episode.  To submit your own question to Dr. Aimee for a future episode of Ask The Egg Whisperer, click here. I've had three failed euploid FETs. When is a natural FET is indicated? (Ask the Egg Whisperer)

Recently, Bree from Oregon wrote in to Ask The Egg Whisperer. She asked if I'd talk about when a natural FET is indicated, as she has had three failed euploid FETs, and would like to increase her chances of pregnancy with her remaining 6 embryos. Here's her question, "Hi Dr. Aimee, thanks for all you do! Can you talk about when a natural FET is indicated? I've had three failed euploid FETs with an ERA and increasing medication intervention each cycle. My RE has suggested trying a natural FET since I was able to get pregnant on a letrozole IUI in 2019 (but miscarried just before 10 weeks). What are the pros/cons of natural, and would you agree with this approach next? I have 6 embryos left and if I cannot get pregnant, my wife would go next, but she really doesn't want to carry and I desperately do. Thanks for your thoughts!"
