In this episode, Shodankeh Johnson (New Generations) takes us through the significant role that prayer and fasting plays in disciple-making movements, stressing their importance in staying close to God. He encourages us to begin with small steps in incorporating prayer and fasting into our lives: starting with a few hours each week personally, prayer meetings, and special prayer-centric events. Bobby Harrington, point leader of discipleship.org, spoke with us about disciple making movements and connecting it to the everyday people at everyday churches pouring into other. He contrasts the differences between these huge movements happening overseas and the things we’re lacking here in North America and brings to light the reasons why we don’t see those movements here in the States. Are we really taking this seriously? Do we really believe the Gospel? Do we really believe our lost neighbors are going to face Jesus when they die and find themselves not ready? We need a sense of urgency in order to see movements of discipleship break out in North America.
