"Final Cut" had its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and has finally made its way over to US cinemas this weekend courtesy of Kino Lorber. "Earth Mama" had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and received strong reviews for writer and director Savanah Leaf making her directorial debut and the performances from the cast, notably Tia Nomore and Erika Alexander. "Biosphere" had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the less you know about this two-hander science fiction story starring Mark Duplass and Sterling K. Brown, the better. However, you should know that it received positive reviews and is quite unlike anything you've ever seen. First-time Director Mel Eslyn (who also co-wrote the screenplay with Duplass) was kind enough to discuss her feature directorial debut with us. One of the most consistently funny shows out there is FX's "What We Do In The Shadows." While the writing and performances have received praise, the show's costumes and how they blend period and modern aesthetics to place these vampires in a contemporary setting is an underusing element that contains many subtle details from costume designer Laura Montgomery. A Primetime Emmy Award winner for the show's third season, Laura's work on season 4 is just as impressive, if not more so.
