"Slingshot" is a new sci-fi drama starring Casey Affleck, Laurence Fishburne, Emily Beecham, Tomer Capone, David Morrissey & Mark Ebulué. The film, directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström, known for his diverse filmography, including the Oscar-nominated "Evil," "Derailed," "1408," "The Rite," and "Escape Plan," Is a unique blend of psychological drama and space thriller. With its psychological storytelling and clever use of visual effects, the film takes us on a gripping journey as an astronaut struggles to maintain his grip on reality aboard a possibly fatally compromised mission to Saturn's moon. "The Supremes At Earl's All-You-Can-Eat" is one of the year's most wholesome films as it tells a story of friendship amongst a trio of women over several decades with fantastic performances from its ensemble cast, which includes Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Sanaa Lathan & Uzo Aduba. Kyanna Simone, Tati Gabrielle, and Abigail Achiri, who play the younger versions of these actresses' characters in the film, were kind enough to spend some time talking with me about their experiences making the film, while Nadia Dalimonte interviewed the film's costume designer, Whitney Anne Adams, about the film's many styles, colors and looks.
