"La Chimera" had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d'Or and received positive reviews from critics who singled out Alice Rohrwacher's direction, thematically rich writing, and the layered performances from Josh O'Connor and Isabella Rossellini.
