"Deadpool & Wolverine" is one of 2024's most anticipated films. Arriving at a time when the MCU so desperately needs a shot in its arm, the third "Deadpool" film brings Hugh Jackman's Wolverine back from the dead after his Oscar-nominated send-off in 2017's "Logan" to combat a new threat, but not before they tear and claw into each other first. "Young Woman And The Sea" was released in theaters for a limited theatrical run earlier this year and is now widely available to be streamed on Disney+. Scoring some of the highest test scores in the studio's history, the inspirational true story of Gertrude "Trudy" Ederle is backed by a rousing, gorgeous score by English composer Amelia Warner. A few days after watching the film in theaters and being so captivated by the score, I tracked down Warner to speak with her about what I consider to be one of the year's best film scores. She was very gracious with her time, diving into her inspirations, working with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, her opinions on the current landscape of film scoring, and more. “Made In England: The Films Of Powell And Pressburger” had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year, where it received rave reviews for delving into the films and careers of two of the greatest storytellers the medium as ever known: Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. From “Black Narcissus” to “The Red Shoes,” to “A Matter of Life and Death,” to “The Tales of Hoffmann,” their collaboration inspired a generation and is still revered for their daring artistry to this day.
