Interview With The "Nomadland" Sound Team

"Nomadland" is easily the most critically acclaimed film of the year. Winning the coveted Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, the most critics prizes for Best Picture, Director, Actress, Cinematography, Editing & Adapted Screenplay, there is barely any aspect of this film that has not been praised. One area you wouldn't necessarily expect to be just as meticulously crafted though is the sound of the film. We were lucky enough to speak with Supervising Sound Editor/Sound Designer/Additional Re-Recording Mixer, Sergio Diaz, Supervising Sound Editor/Re-Recording Mixer, Zach Seivers, and Production Sound Mixer, M. Wolf Snyder about their nuanced work on the film. Take a listen down below and enjoy this deep dive into the sound of "Nomadland," now currently streaming on Hulu.Check out more on NextBestPicture.comPlease subscribe on...SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/nextbestpicturepodcastiTunes Podcasts - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/negs-best-film-podcast/id1087678387?mt=2Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7IMIzpYehTqeUa1d9EC4jTAnd be sure to help support us on Patreon for as little as $1 a month at https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture Learn more about your ad choices. Interview With "Minari" Composer, Emile Mosseri

"Minari" has recently been nominated for 10 Critics Choice Awards and 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards. It's been one of the most beloved films of the year ever since its premiere at last year's Sundance Film Festival. One of the key ingredients in what makes the movie work so well is the beautiful score by Emile Mosseri ("The Last Black Man In San Francisco"). Emile's work has been nominated by the Critics Choice Association and has also been shortlisted by the Academy for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for the 93rd Academy Awards. Emile was kind enough to talk to us about his work on the film a few months ago and we are now releasing that interview so you can download the score, listen for yourself and discover why it is one of the best films scores of 2020.
