Mike Rianda's feature-length directorial debut "The Mitchells vs. The Machines" is premiering this weekend on Netflix after having a long road to release. A six year long project, the film first started at Sony with "Spider-Man: Into The Spier-Verse's" creative team and the producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller before moving to Netflix due to the COVID-19 pandemic, receiving a name-change (formerly titled "Connected") and now, it's finally here for the world to see. It was a rollercoaster of emotions as the 93rd Academy Awards concluded in a shocking upset for Best Actor that left a poor taste in many fans' minds after the producers made the decision to announce Best Actress & Best Actor after the Best Picture award (first time this had happened since the 1930s) all in hopes of a different outcome than what we received. The shock, anger and disgust of it all could be felt from all of us here at Next best Picture as we hopped on to discuss the show immediately following its conclusion. "Together Together" premiered earlier this year at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival where it garnered strong reviews for its screenplay, performances from Ed Helms, Patti Harrison and sensitive direction from Nikole Beckwith.
