Myriam D. Savage (Mimi) Ph.D., RDT/BCT, is a registered drama therapist, board-certified trainer, and associate professor at California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco in the Master of Counseling Psychology & Expressive Arts program. She is a core faculty member teaching courses such as Human Development and Family, Group Dynamics, Arts in Therapy and Professional Development.Dr. Savage is also founding faculty for the Arts and Healing Initiative (formerly UCLArts and Healing) in the Social Emotional Arts (SEA) program, where she collaborated with a team of creative art therapists, creating curricula and manualized professional development programs that use various modalities for therapists, artists, and educators. Conference topics and publications include narrative, arts-based research, and drama therapy interventions using digital art apps, exploring self-identity with young women adopted from foster care and facilitating unhoused women on skid row, LA. Dr. Savage has published in peer review journals and books.
