In this episode, the hosts discuss the racist 'reverse freedom rides' in 1962, where ads were placed offering one-way bus rides for Black southerners to northern cities. They explore the class difference within the Citizens Council and their failed scheme. The deliberate tactics behind the reverse freedom rides are examined, along with the disappointing reality for the migrants. The podcast also delves into the cruel behavior of politicians in 1960s Louisiana and the political consequences of their actions.

It’s April 8th. This day in 1994, the Florida legislature passed a bill that would offer some reparations and support for descendents of the Rosewood Massacre, when a Black town was burned down in 1923.
