Leigh Erin Connealy, MD | Why Cancer Loves Sugar, Testing to Determine Cancer Risk KKP: 186
Today, I am blessed to have here with me, a prominent leader in the field of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Erin Connealy. She utilizes the best of all sciences, including conventional, homeopathic, eastern medicine and modern medicine. She is the Medical Director of Cancer Center for Healing and Center for New Medicine. The combined 30,000 S.F. clinics have become the largest integrative medical clinic in North America, and have been visited by over patients 47,000 patients. The Center for New Medicine focuses on a precise and personalized approach to patient care that includes prevention, early detection of cancer, internal medicine, auto-immune disease, natural hormone replacement, chronic issues, and even aesthetics. Dr. Connealy's clinics focus on treating “the patient with the disease and not the disease of the patient, while determining the origin of the illness." Dr. Connealy created the Cancer Center for Healing as a result of the epidemic of cancer. Patients receive scientifically based treatments and receive integrative protocols. She utilizes unique combination of Bio Energetic testing, RGCC testing, and comprehensive blood panels to create a personalized treatment plan for early to late stage cancer patients. Her clinic offers a variety of advance cancer treatments to maximize outcomes and minimize side effects. Dr. Connealy created the Perfectly Healthy brand of products that are manufactured by state-of-the-art GMP FDA approved facilities. All Perfectly Healthy products support human optimization for each patient. Perfectly Healthy products are also carried in the shop inside the Center for New Medicine, which curates hand-picked products that promote a healthy lifestyle. In this episode, Dr. Connealy dives into her story of suffering from prenatal DES exposure. This exposure has caused massive amounts of collateral damage to Dr. Connealy. After realizing that conventional medicine wasn't going to be enough for herself and her patients, Dr. Connealy is working on educating the world on how to take care of themselves through food and other lifestyle changes. Dr. Connealy exposes the truth about cancer, how to determine if you're at risk for cancer, and what you can do to start preventing cancer today. Stay tuned as we speak about the problems with EMF exposure and the importance of fasting. *Dr. Connealy firmly believes that there is no 1 cause of cancer. It is the overwhelming presence of toxins, unresolved emotional trauma, EMFs, etc., that breakdown the body’s ability to fight cancer and eventually leads to the growth of a tumor and a cancer diagnosis.* // E P I S O D E S P ON S O R S PureForm Omega Plant Based Oils (Best Alternative to Fish Oil): http://www.purelifescience.com Use ben4 for $4.00 off. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off [00:30] About Dr. Connealy Connealy is traditionally trained. However, she realized that prescriptions would treat her patients and not fix them. Because of the collateral damage from DES, Dr. Connealy has always been focusing on her health. She has had a lot of medical interventions as a result of DES. Doctors are not teaching and informing patients that what you eat matters. The single determinant of health is what is on your fork. “We need to start educating the world on how to take care of themselves.” -Dr. Connealy [10:00] The Truth About Cancer For the last five years, Dr. Connealy has asked every patient about the first thing they have done since being diagnosed with cancer. 100% of patients said they changed their eating habits. Sugar and food are addictions. Unfortunately, people don’t want to be strict with their eating program. Everyone grows up with cereal, so people tend to continue to do what we have always done. “The foundation of progress is discipline.” -Dr. Connealy The only way people make is a change is through pain. People know they are eating poorly, but they think that they can get away with it. “We are living in a nation of illness today.” -Dr. Connealy [17:05] How Long A Cancer Diagnosis Will Take Cancer starts with just one erroneous cell. The cell will begin to replicate itself. When the cancer cell becomes a tumor, that cell is ten years old. That means you had nine years of opportunity to check to see if you have cancer. With the technology that we have today, we know with a high accuracy rate if people have cancer. It is so much easier to prevent the illness from occurring. It does not necessarily take a symptom to know that you have cancer. Some people feel great and still get cancer. If you have a symptom, get checked by a conventionally trained doctor who knows modern medicine. [22:55] The Survival Rate For Chemotherapy The survival rate for chemotherapy is two percent. This statistic is for the people that don’t change any sort of lifestyle. If you change your lifestyle, there will be a different percentage. “It’s not a good idea to give bad statistics.” -Dr. Connealy We have to take everything that we know all over the world and collaborate to find the best non-toxic therapies to help every human being. [24:30] Testing To Determine Cancer Risk Connealy doesn’t assume that 25-year-olds are healthy. There are too many 25-year-olds with cancer. Check your chemistry panel. 50% of the population has a condition called fatty liver. There’s a 50% chance that the liver is elevated. Dr. Connealy is not concerned about cholesterol; it’s the least of our problems. Make sure to get a thyroid blood test. If you have low thyroid, then you are at a higher risk for cancer. A hemoglobin A1c is a reflection of your sugar over 90 days. You want your DHEA levels optimal. hCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin. This hormone can be a useful marker for women. Don’t use one indicator. Look at the big picture. [33:45] Why You Are Vitamin D Deficient There is so much going on environmentally that we are not absorbing vitamin D. Even people who play beach volleyball in California are vitamin D deficient. There are two supplements that everyone should take: vitamin D and oils. [41:30] About The Relationship Between Cancer and Sugar Cancer cells eat sugar. A PET scan is proof that cancer cells eat sugar. Some cancers eat more sugar, while other cancers eat less. Sugar is a massive problem; it is our enemy. The key to health is not to eat sugar. When you eat sugar, you are feeding potential cancer cells. Cancer cells have many markers. Most patients already know about this relationship between cancer and sugar. However, they usually just copy the traditions that they grew up with. People need to learn to be mindful of their actions. [46:30] The Benefits of a Keto Lifestyle With Fasting Getting off sugar is the most significant benefit of a keto lifestyle. Connealy suggests that people should fast when they are overweight. The least expensive thing you can do is fast. Fasting has been around for thousands of years. After fasting, many patients will see improvements in their tumors. Calorie restriction is the only way to slow down aging. Everything you breathe, eat, and drink will go through your body. Then, your body will rest and regenerate. Any kind of fasting is a good idea. [56:45] The Problems With Emotional Conflict and EMFs The time you are created, the first seven years are critical for emotional development. Emotional trauma is the number one thing that will cause disease. None of us know how to do self-reflection. Going to therapy was the best thing that Dr. Connealy did in her entire life. She is still learning and still practicing how to be an emotionally balanced person. Everyone has something going on in their life. Scientists are forewarning all of our governments about the dangers of EMFs. Every cell in our body can receive and transmit energy. As a result, we are receiving the energy fields from EMFs. EMFs are powerfully infecting our DNA. Unfortunately, there is no escaping it. The best thing you can do is to sleep in an electrical free bedroom. AND MUCH MORE! He has been an assistant instructor for hands on practicum for diagnosis using musculoskeletal ultrasound for the 3rd Annual Platelet Rich Plasma & Regenerative Medicine Symposium in Los Angeles, California in 2015, and was a speaker at the Florida Chiropractic Physicians Association (FCPA) in Orlando, Florida in 2016 on Clinical Applications of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He has completed training with Dr Richie Shoemaker in 2019 for diagnosis & treatment of CIRS and with the “Shoemaker Protocol”. His techniques include Continuing Chiropractic Education: Chiropractic Neurology, – Applied Kinesiology “AK”, Cold Laser Therapy, Extremity Adjusting, Sports Injury Taping, Rehabilitation of Sports Injuries, Lumbar and Cervical Disc Decompression, Pettibon Scoliosis through the Carrick Institute of Functional Neurology as well as Vestibular Rehabilitation & Movement Disorders through the Carrick Institute in 2012,’16, ’17, ’18. Dr. Lieurance is the developer of Functional Cranial Release and teaches, as well as certifies, these methods to doctors around the world. In this episode, Dr. Lieurance opens the show describing the advantages of a functional cranial release. He then explains how our body likes to make energy and the benefits of melatonin on the process. He dives into the amount of melatonin we should be taking, how we should take it, and how we can naturally produce more melatonin. Learn about Dr. Lieurance’s new product Sandman Sol and be sure to check out all of his products and use the code “ketokamp” https://advancedbiomecorp.com/. // E P I S O D E S P ON S O R S PureForm Omega Plant Based Oils (Best Alternative to Fish Oil): http://www.purelifescience.com Use ben4 for $4.00 off. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off [00:55] About Functional Cranial Release It’s a manipulation of the cranium using a force from inside out. The force is expansive, and it takes the pressure off of the bone called the sphenoid bone, which is in the center of your head. Information around cranial work needs to get out there. It’s a little known technique that people need to hear about. People with chronic headaches or balance disorders can significantly benefit from a functional cranial release. [05:15] Understanding Melatonin People can take higher doses of melatonin for inflammation. Melatonin also works on the mitochondria; it’s an essential structure for every cell in our body. You don’t want to burn your cell out. Things are going in and out of the cell membrane. You want it to be as clean as possible. The mitochondria make its own melatonin. It does it for a significant reason – when things get too hot, melatonin will cool it done. You get oxidation from the burning of energy; melatonin will quench the oxidation. Oral absorption of melatonin is low – only about two percent is absorbed into the body. The suppository is a direct route into the bloodstream. Check out Dr. Lieurance’s product SandMan Sol™. It contains 250mg of Glutathione, 200mg of Melatonin, Terpene Blend (Limonene, boswellia), and their proprietary AP0-808™ probiotic strain. The body’s two most potent antioxidants, Glutathione, and Melatonin together! [12:30] How Cancer Works Cancer happens when the cell no longer can make energy efficiently, and it goes to a primitive way of creating energy. Instead of making 36 ATPS, you only make 4. Because of inflammation, you make less energy. The Cytokine Storm is what kills people. Melatonin can penetrate the cell and quench the cycle so you can start making energy effectively. [19:50] You Won’t Shut Down Your Ability To Make Melatonin There is an idea that too much melatonin is somehow a danger. However, there is no negative feedback. When you take testosterone, you’ll make less of it. With melatonin, this doesn’t happen. You can take high doses, quit, and the very next night, you’ll produce the same amount of melatonin. [21:10] Other Cool Things About Melatonin Melatonin is critical for disease prevention and slowing down aging. When don’t have a lot of energy, it’s common for people not to clean their house. Whenever everything is clean, everything is more effective. The same thing happens in your body. When you don’t have energy, your body will start doing what is most important and go into survival mode. [25:25] How To Increase Melatonin In The Body Getting sunlight first thing in the morning will help produce melatonin in your body. People wear sunglasses too much. Be smart about it. Don’t go out on the paddleboard all day long and burn your eyes. However, it would help if you had sunlight throughout the day. Before 11 am, and after 4 pm, you should be able to navigate without sunglasses. The green and blue lights will suppress melatonin. People are watching TV, on their cell phone and their iPad. It’s keeping you up at night. Buy red rope lights to put around your house. The lights on the wall switches should not be used at night. Buy blue-blocking glasses and turn on the night shift for your phone. AND MUCH MORE! Resources from this episode: Check out Advanced Rejuvenation

Dr Kedar Prasad | The Link Between EMF's, Diabetes & Chronic Disease KKP: 182
Today, I am grateful to have a repeat guest on the Keto Kamp Podcast, Dr. Kedar Prasad PhD. Dr. Kedar Prasad PhD earned a Ph.D. in Radiation Biology from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 1963. As the first Radiation Biology Ph.D. ever, he received Post-doctoral training at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York, and joined the Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado Medical School Health and Sciences Center where he became Professor and Director of the Center for Vitamins and Cancer Research. Easily one of the most published experts on nutrition, cancer, neurological diseases and the effects that micronutrients and antioxidants have on each, Dr. Prasad is frequently sought after for his expertise and extensive experience with nutrition. When approached by the US DoD to help develop a product that would radically decrease the effects of trauma on the military forces, he developed the world’s most advanced daily supplement, Micro Daily. In this episode, Dr. Kedar Prasad dives deep into Electric and Magnetic Fields (EMF). EMFs are invisible areas of energy that are found in wireless internet signals and our cell phones. EMF radiation can wreak serious havoc on our bodies. Dr. Kedar explains what type of damage can happen to our DNA and biological tissues. Plus, Dr. Kedar reveals the various types of things that will help prevent severe damage. For one, it’s essential to take supplements. You can find Micro Daily EMF here: https://shop.microdaily.com/ketokamp. // E P I S O D E S P ON S O R S PureForm Omega Plant Based Oils (Best Alternative to Fish Oil): http://www.purelifescience.com Use ben4 for $4.00 off. http://www.Kettleandfire.com/ketokamp and use KETOKAMP at checkout to save 15% on your entire order. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off [01:45] About EMFs EMF stands for electric and magnetic fields. EMFs are invisible areas of energy, often referred to as radiation. You cannot block the magnetic field of penetration from EMFs to our bodies. Studies show that EMFs will increase the risks of brain cancer and other cancers as well. Even though there is some controversy on the studies, Dr. Kedar personally believes that EMF radiation will increase the risk of cancer. Also, EMF radiation can induce diabetes-like symptoms. There are loads of effects that no one can deny from EMF radiation. EMFs are found in wi-fi signals and our cell phones.
[10:10] Differences between EMF Radiation Based On Generation Recent generations will have more acute damage from EMF radiation. Even low exposure to EMF from mobile phones may cause health problems. There are many aspects of health that are affected by EMF radiation. For instance, it can cause damage to biological tissues by inducing changes. Shielding EMF radiation has no value in Dr. Kedar’s opinion. In fact, it can be counterproductive. Instead, focus on how you can protect your body from the inside. [18:55] EMF Radiation Can Reduce Capacity of DNA Repair If you are exposed to EMF radiation, then you generate lots of free radicals. Antioxidant enzymes are reduced with EMF radiation. Inflammation will increase with exposure. EMF radiation increases the level of oxidated stress and chronic inflammation. These two cellular deficits are involved in all human chronic diseases. [21:50] How We Can Protect Our Tissues To reduce oxidated stress, your body needs two things: Increased antioxidant enzymes Increased antioxidant compounds You can increase antioxidant levels by activation of Nrf2. If you cannot activate Nrf2, you cannot increase antioxidant enzymes. You can increase Nrf2 through supplements and diet. [27:30] Using Supplements To Protect Our Tissues First, ensure you have a proper diet and lifestyle. Then, take a Micro Daily EMF supplement. You can find Dr. Kedar’s supplement here: https://shop.microdaily.com/ketokamp. The Micro Daily supplement provides 5G and EMF Radiation Defense and Immune System Boost. Plus, the supplement has other massive benefits: Enhanced anti-inflammatory response DNA integrity and health Anti-aging at the cellular level Increased energy Joint and pain relief This supplement is validated with the U.S. Military. [36:25] How To Take Fewer Hits From EMFs The important thing is remaining distant - maintain distance from EMFs to reduce exposure. Turn off your Wi-Fi router at night. If your phone is in your pocket, make sure it is on airplane mode. Do not spend excessive time around EMFs. [39:05] EMF Exposure On Animals Our pets are also exposed to the same EMFs that we are. [43:25] Measuring EMF Damage You can measure CRP in the blood. After a few months using Micro Daily EMF, you will find that your CRP is down. Also, you will feel less sensitivity to EMF radiation when you are taking the Micro Daily EMF. AND MUCH MORE! Resources from this episode: Shop https://shop.microdaily.com/ketokamp

It’s important to include collagen via organ meats, supplements, and bone broth. Methionine is commonly found in muscle meat. Glycine is found in connective tissue and organ meat. Methionine is a carrier of methyl groups, when you have too much methionine it uses up your bodies glycine to buffer up the methyl groups. This will mess up your biochemistry. Glycine balances methionine and helps the amino acid ratio. While it is true that one of the liver’s role is to neutralize toxins (such as drugs, chemical agents and poisons), it does not store these toxins. Toxins the body cannot eliminate are likely to accumulate in the body’s fatty tissues and nervous systems. On the other hand, the liver is a is a storage organ for many important nutrients (vitamins A, D, E, K, B12 and folic acid, and minerals such as copper and iron). These nutrients provide the body with some of the tools it needs to get rid of toxins. She graduated from Stanford Medical School and did four years of additional training in ENT/Otolaryngology and subsequently trained with the Institute for Functional Medicine. She is a whole-foods plant-based diet advocate, which she promotes on her Instagram account, @drcaseyskitchen. Casey is passionate about helping patients identify the root causes of their ailments, and creating intervention plans with her patients that primarily focus on nutritional and lifestyle approaches. [14:30] Making The Pivot To Functional Medicine It was an easy decision for Dr. Casey to pivot to functional medicine. Casey’s purpose is to help the most people that she possibly can. Ultimately, Dr. Casey realized she could merge her functional medicine insight into digital tools and potentially help millions. [19:25] About Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) tracks glucose levels throughout the day and night and can alert you if your levels go too high or low. This technology has been around for over a decade. Insulin resistance and metabolic diseases start decades before the actual diagnosis and result from repeated and regular insults to your metabolic system. No two people respond to carbs the same; that’s why a CGM is useful. [31:05] The Effects of Cortisol On Glucose Our perception of stress effects our glucose levels. Stress will raise your glucose. It’s good to be aware of your stress levels throughout the day. It’s difficult to know whether or not we are stressed. You cannot hide the stress from your body even if your brain doesn’t think you are stressed. If you’re getting a glucose surge, then try to add a meditation practice to your day. [34:25] About The Dawn Phenomenon First thing in the morning, glucose will rise on its own. In order to wake up from sleep, our body will release cortisol and other hormones. These hormones will have an impact on our bodies. This effect is more pronounced in someone who has diabetes. Evidence suggests that a very healthy person will not have much of a dawn effect. In someone who has perfect insulin sensitivity, then the body will compensate for the glucose surge. It’s normal not to see a dawn effect. [36:10] Optimal Glucose Ranges If you have a fasting glucose of below 100, you’re considered normal. If you are 100 – 125, you are considered prediabetic. If you are 126 and above, you are considered diabetic. If you’re below 100 in the morning, then you’re okay. After a considerable carb-rich meal and you stay below 140, then you’re fine. However, Dr. Casey says these numbers are way too lenient. If you look at the research, even in the “normal” range risk of all diseases increases above 70. Some research suggests that the lower your fasting glucose is, the risk for mortality goes up. This does not entirely convince dr. Casey. Low fasting glucose needs to be studied better. [46:25] Getting Your Own CGM For an average person, their doctor will not give them a CGM. When you become a Level customer, you will get an evaluation from a doctor to use a CGM. Then, you will get a CGM in the mail. The monitor will track your metabolic fitness and allow you to take control of your health. Check out Levels: https://www.levelshealth.com/

Dr Cate Shanahan, The Fatburn Fix, 8 Fats to Avoid on Keto, & Metabolism Myths KKP:178
Today, I am blessed to have here with me, the leading authority on nutrition and human metabolism, Dr. Cate Shanahan. A board-certified Family Physician with over 20 years of clinical experience, and NY Times bestselling author of The FatBurn Fix, Deep Nutrition and Food Rules, her expertise is fixing the underlying problems that cause metabolic damage and inflammation, leading to autoimmunity, weight gain, diabetes, cancer and accelerated aging processes. Her passion is helping people feel their best. After getting her BS in biology from Rutgers University, she trained in biochemistry and genetics at Cornell University’s graduate school before attending Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She practiced in Hawaii for ten years where she studied ethnobotany and her healthiest patient’s culinary habits. She applied her learning and experiences in all these scientific fields to write Deep Nutrition: Why Your Genes Need Traditional Food. Together with Dr. Tim DiFrancesco and NBA legend Gary Vitti, she created the PRO Nutrition program for the LA Lakers and helped forge a partnership between Whole Foods Market and numerous NBA teams. In May of 2018 she begin Director of Metabolic Health for ABC Fine Wine and Spirits, a progressive, family-run company interested in saving money by the betterment of health. She’s also the Medical & Scientific Advisor at CB Supplements, overseeing their premium-grade multi collagen protein, and for beliv, a forward-thinking Latin American beverage company. In this episode, Dr. Cate reveals the details behind her health journey and nutritional career. Dr. Cate discloses what it was like to work for the LA Lakers and the diet that helped Kobe Bryant recover from a terrible ankle injury. Also, Dr. Cate explains why we need to avoid The Hateful Eight Oils and how it could be the key to reducing coronavirus deaths. Plus, we talk all about omega-3s, the problem with fish oils, and everything you need to know about our metabolisms. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off // T I M E S T A M P S [00:30] About Dr. Cate While in Hawaii, Dr. Cate got a mysterious problem with her right knee. Nothing would help it. She had surgery and saw multiple specialists. Eventually, Dr. Cate took her husband’s advice and cut the sugar. After learning about nutrition, Dr. Cate realized that our health problems started in the 1950s. Now, Dr. Cate says we should take advantage of all the living and edible parts of our landscape.
[09:05] How Dr. Cate Gets Her Message Out To The World There are so many barriers in place for education on nutrition. For one, Dr. Cate would give talks about nutrition. So, she got a reputation for being a Master of Nutrition. However, people would come from all over Hawaii to ask Dr. Cate everything! There was no way to manage it. Later, Dr. Cate moved to New Hampshire to get her message out. She found out the medical system was silencing her message, not where she lived. Currently, Dr. Cate works for a company directly. That way, her income is not based on churning through people as fast as possible. [12:50] Working For The LA Lakers The only reason Dr. Cate worked for the LA Lakers was because of her husband. Her husband had the idea that it would be great if there were a radical overhaul on their nutritional science. When players get injured, Dr. Cate will use the natural healing properties of bone broth to get them on the court as fast as possible. Kobe Bryant was totally on board for the natural healing methods. After an ankle injury, he recovered in two weeks using a diet. Bone broth and collagen are like a missing food group – it helps skin, hair, nails, ligaments, and the gut. The most important thing that no one is talking about is The Hateful Eight Seed Oils. These oils are incompatible with athletic performance. A big part of Dr. Cate’s job was making sure that the players knew what to order and what to avoid. [19:00] About The Hateful Eight Avoid these oils: Corn Canola Cottonseed Soy Sunflower Safflower Rice Grapeseed They are too high in unstable fatty acids. The average person is getting most of their calories from these oils. Without these seed oils, we would not have the burden of chronic disease. We were healthier 100 years ago, and we had no clue about vitamins, minerals, and supplements. [24:10] The Great Exchange After a certain point, our body wants nothing to do with these unstable fatty acids. Two percent of daily calories should come from omega-3 and omega-6. We actually need more omega-3 than we do omega-6. The exchange of good fatty acids for bad fatty acids opens the door to chronic disease. Once we exceed the two percent amount of unstable fatty acids, then they end up in our body fat. We have a lot of people who are on the skinny side but are centrally obese. Our bodies cannot traffic these unstable acids properly. That’s why it stays near the fat lining of our intestines. Start eating the monounsaturated fatty acids. Clear your life of the seed oils. [28:55] We Need More Omega-3s Than Omega-6s On a healthy diet, omega-3s are more likely to get damaged during cooking. For the amount that is ultimately absorbed, we need more omega-3 sources in the food that we eat. You can’t supplement more omega-3 if you have been eating a standard American diet. Instead, you have to cut the omega-6. If you reduce omega-6 without increasing your intake of omega-3, then your blood levels of omega-3 will start to rise. Oxidation science is very complicated, and there is a lot to consider. [33:40] Fish Oil Is Highly Unstable Oxygen will attack the bond and destroy the molecule. Fish oil has two double bonds. So the oxygen is nine billion times more likely to attack. Fish oils can have five double bonds. It is so unstable that it rarely makes it off the shelf before it’s destroyed. The fish oil will turn into toxic compounds. People are getting toxic compounds from low-quality fish oils. [36:30] How To Reduce Coronavirus Deaths Brazil leads in the consumption of seed oils. They are also the country that leads in the number of deaths from coronavirus. Countries that consume more peanut oil have a lot fewer coronavirus deaths. This isn’t a crazy coincidence. The connection is inflammation. Coronavirus is a modest virus when you compare it to things like the bubonic plague. The virus will make our own processes work against us. That way, the virus can continue to divide into our bodies. When people die from the virus, it’s the inflammation in their lungs. Avoid unstable fats to stay healthy. [41:35] Thoughts On Peanut Oil Peanut oil straddles the seed oil and the nut oil worlds. Nut oils are much more stable than seed oils. Peanuts are really seeds. However, it’s not enough to be a problem in our body. You do not have to process the peanut so harshly. You can extract it without high heat, pressure, and chemicals. You can have peanut oils made with pure and raw materials. [45:00] The Metabolism Does Not Have Speeds Our metabolism doesn’t have speeds; it has efficiency and inefficiency. When we are a fat burner, it can efficiently switch from burning calories in our last meal to burning fat if we have a healthy metabolism. Our metabolism can burn our body fat, so we don’t get hungry hours after a meal. That is an efficient metabolism. If our metabolism is inefficient, then we have a hard time burning body fat. Dr Bryan Abasolo "Dr Abs™", Get Rid of Chronic Pain For Good! KKP:177
Today, I am grateful to talk with a licensed Chiropractor in Florida with over ten years of clinical experience, Dr. Bryan Abasolo. Bryan’s career quickly expanded into the entertainment realm becoming a celebrity persona following ABC’s The Bachelorette, where he was the winner of the show and became engaged to America’s Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay. With a passion for a healthy lifestyle and a lean and toned physique, Bryan’s trade name has become Dr. Abs - The Lifestyle and Wellness Coach. Appearing on popular shows, such as The Doctors, Dr. Abs' coaching focuses on lifestyle initiatives to educate his viewers on the benefit of chiropractic adjustments and treatment, combined with natural supplements, and core body training, as a pivotal part of maintaining an overall healthy body. In this episode, Dr. Bryan talks all about alleviating chronic pain. As a chiropractor, Dr. Bryan says adjusting the spine will allow your body to heal. However, there are other things that you can do throughout the day to relieve your chronic pain. For instance, make sure you are always moving. Movement is the key to life. Also, Dr. Bryan reveals the importance of deep tissue laser therapy and its role in chronic pain. Tune in as we talk about the role sleep can play in back pain and why we need to start getting healthy from the inside. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off [01:10] About Dr. Bryan In college, Dr. Bryan realized proper nutrition and proper training would lead to abs. Bryan is interested in natural health, which is why he went to chiropractic school. He is ready and willing to help loads of people. The human body is the world’s greatest healer. If we can remove the interference, then the human body will heal itself. Chiropractors will adjust the spine, allowing your body to heal. [06:25] Alleviating Chronic Pain Interference is often caused by sitting. Our biomechanics are ruined when we sit all day. Standing, walking, moving is essential for the body. Chronic pain happens as we age. All of your issues will start to catch up with you and take a toll on your life. If you're suffering from chronic lower back pain or chronic neck pain, you may benefit from a surgical alternative known as decompression therapy. Get to the root of the problem. Instead of getting pain medicine, it's essential to heal the discs naturally. [13:00] Daily Routines To Alleviate Back Pain Bryan says sitting is causing back pain. Instead, use a stand-up desk. That way, you can stay sharp and promote efficiency. Wake up in the morning and clear your mind. When we immediately turn to Instagram and Facebook, it is hurting your posture. Instead, take in all the beautiful things that life has to offer. Stretching will also help alleviate pain. Drinking a lot of water is also critical for chronic pain. [16:00] Deep Tissue Laser Therapy Laser treatment is safe, painless, and noninvasive. The treatment will decrease inflammation, help with cellular regeneration, and also treat pain. Professional athletes are using deep tissue laser therapy to recover and play faster. Light energy will penetrate deep into the cells and target the mitochondria. Then, it will produce more ATP. The injury will heal way faster using laser therapy because it will renew the cell at a much higher rate. [21:20] The Role Sleep Plays In Pain Unfortunately, Dr. Bryan is a face-down sleeper. It’s not suitable for your lower bag. The best thing you can possibly do is to sleep in the fetal position. Use a pillow in-between your legs to balance out the hips. Find a pillow that will keep your spine aligned. If you are going to sleep face up, always put a pillow underneath your knees to flatten out your lower back on the bed. Always make sure your lower back is supported. [24:00] Dr. Bryan’s Keto Journey Bryan is glad keto is working for fat loss. At 40, your diet has to be on point more than ever. Bryan eats quality eggs, avocados, raw nuts, and keto shakes. Bulletproof is Dr. Bryan’s favorite coffee. He has never felt sharper mentally than he has with bulletproof coffee. [29:25] Stop Drinking Diet Sodas Diet sodas do not provide our bodies with any calories. They also do not offer any significant nutrition. These fake sugars are neurotoxins. Avoid diet sodas at all costs. They will disrupt our gut bacteria. [32:10] The Importance of Inner Health You are what you eat. What we put in our bodies is just as important as what we put on the outside. For good skin, eat whole foods and a great diet. Drink lots of water and get sunshine for inner health. People are not drinking enough water on a daily basis. If you’re feeling hungry, you may just be thirsty. At the end of the day, we only have one body. Take care of it! [36:00] Intense Pain After An Adjustment Your body has adapted to the positions and activities you do every single day. A chiropractor will have your body adapt to something that you’re not used to. Most people feel uncomfortable after their first adjustments. When you keep getting adjusted, your body will get used to it. AND MUCH MORE! Megan Ramos, How to Reverse Insulin Resistance, Why Changing Your Fasting Schedule is Key KKP:176
Today, I am blessed to have a repeat guest, Canadian clinical researcher, and expert on therapeutic fasting and low carbohydrate diets, guiding more than 10,000 people worldwide, Megan Ramos. Passionate about overcoming her own health hurdles through diet and lifestyle modifications, she co-founded the Fasting Method(www.fastingmethod.com) and The Fasting Method. Megan was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NALFD) at age 12, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) at age 14, and type 2 diabetes (DMII) at age 27. She reversed these metabolic conditions and achieve an 86-pound weight loss by incorporating intermittent fasting with a low carb diet, and is now passionate about helping others do the same. Megan lives in Toronto, Canada. She is a director of the nonprofit organization Public Health Collaboration Canada (PHC Canada), works on the editorial board of the Journal of Insulin Resistance and Team Diet Doctor. In this episode, Megan Ramos explains how you should start fasting and why you need to stop snacking. Ghrelin is our hunger hormone – just like our other hormones, it fluctuates throughout the day. Megan reveals some creative ways that you can ride out the ghrelin hunger wave. Plus, we get into common health complaints and side effects. Megan touches on why you may be bloated during a fast, why you may experience diarrhea during a fast, or why you may be constipated. Stay tuned as we talk keto breath and the importance of hydration. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off [01:50] How To Stop Snacking Whatever diet you are following, it’s critical to stop snacking. In between meals, rely on fluids to get you through the day. Drink water, bone broth, or herbal tea to curb hunger. Making it from lunch to dinner without snacks is a massive accomplishment. Insulin resistance is caused by chronic secretion of insulin. The pancreas is not designed to stimulate insulin throughout the day. If you eliminate snacking, it will help you reach your goals. [07:20] We Are Note Designed To Eat Constantly Eating all day long is making us age faster, it’s making us sicker, and it hurts our health. We are not designed to eat more than a couple of times a day. [08:15] How To Start Fasting People are comfortable with cutting out breakfast. Start with eating lunch and eating dinner. This should be done every day to build your fasting muscles. Sixteen hours is a mild fast – it’s like stretching every day. Once this becomes easy, then cut out lunch and cut out dinner, depending on what works best for your schedule. It’s better to eat earlier in the day if you are going to eat. Experiment with sodium to get to dinner without any snacking. After a fast, assess results: Are you feeling well? Do you see improvements? [13:30] Our Hunger Hormone Cycles Throughout The Day All of our hormones go up and down throughout the day. Ghrelin, the hunger hormone, will also cycle throughout the day. When you hit a hunger wave, it’s best to distract yourself. Try an appetite suppressant like peppermint tea. Once you get busy, the hunger wave will subside. Ride out the hunger wave by creating a list of things to do. Another way to ride the hunger wave is by reducing your stress. Use hunger waves to meditate, breathe, or listen to Keto Kamp. Water, salt, and magnesium will assist with stress and inflammation. [21:20] Getting A Continuous Glucose Monitor Call your insurance company and let them know about your blood glucose issues. Most people can get their monitors covered. In Canada, you are able to get the monitors easily. Megan says to work with your healthcare provider to negotiate the monitor. [23:20] The Importance of Changing Your Fasting Routine If you’re fasting every other day, it usually provides enough variation. When people are only eating one meal a day, their bodies will adapt to it. For maintenance, one meal a day is excellent. However, many people can be happy with two meals a day. When looking to lose weight, your body will adapt to your schedule. There is a big difference between fasting and calorie restriction. Your days should be varied and different, so your body does not adapt. For people who like to do OMAD, alternate which meal you’re having. Eat lunch one day, dinner the next, then lunch the day after. It’s a great way to change your routine and keep variation in your fast. [33:00] Why Your Breath Smells While Fasting When we fast, fatty acids are converted into ketones, which are natural chemicals your body produces when you burn fat for energy. Ketones are released through our breath, and it may cause “keto breath.” Brushing your tongue is one way to get rid of the smelly breath. Oil pulling is beneficial for the breath – it helps get bacteria out of the mouth. [35:20] Why You’re Bloated During A Fast Some people are bloated because they are constipated. Most people have adrenal dysfunction. There could be stress on the thyroid. Electrolyte imbalances can also cause bloating. Focus on sodium as the gateway electrolyte. If you can sustain healthy sodium levels, then it should lower that bloating. [37:10] Diarrhea Or Constipation While Fasting You may have diarrhea while detoxing. If insulin levels are high, and you start a fast, they can drop rapidly. The kidneys may not be able to process all of that water – so some will go through the colon. If this happens, start with shorter fasts. Stabilize your carb intake on your eating days to prevent large insulin fluctuations. Hydration is key! Not just water, but water and electrolytes. If you are constipated, most likely, your thyroid is suppressed. As your body figures out your new lifestyle changes, it will adjust accordingly. Keep water and salt up to support the system. [41:10] Why You’re Cold During A Fast The thyroid could be a reason why you are cold during a fast. Low ketones is another reason why you are cold while fasting. Warmth should improve when your ketones are higher. [45:20] About Carb Cycling If someone is exceptionally diabetic, then they should stay keto. Even a few carbs can be counter-productive. Usually, Megan will introduce carbs when women are halfway through their journey. If they are off their medications and are seeing more glucose control, then they can start eating carbs again. Carb cycling will help support female hormones. If a woman has been doing straight keto and fasting quite a lot, they may hit a plateau to access body fat. After carb cycling, they may feel even better. AND MUCH MORE! Resources from this episode: Check out The Fasting Method
