Truth About Screens & Social Media, Rep. Gallagher Abandons Constituents, Blasey Ford is Back
Inez Stepman of the Independent Women's Forum and host of the "High Noon" podcast is in for Jim. First, they react to Dr. Jonathan Haidt's latest writings and research confirming the devastating impact that 24/7 exposure to screens, the internet, and social media have had on Gen Z. The finding are terrible but knowing the facts is very helpful. So what are the lessons should take away from what we've learned over the past 17 years since the iPhone came out and just how much damage has been done to the young people who served as guinea pigs for this massive shift in technology. Next, they react to Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher not only deciding not to run for re-election but to resign from Congress next month. Not only that, it appears he is postponing his resignation just long enough to prevent a special election to fill his seat, so it will stay vacant until November. Colorado's Ken Buck did the same thing earlier this month. Greg wonders why these two GOP members are selfishly leaving their constituents high and dry (as did Kevin McCarthy late last year) instead of honoring their commitments. However, Inez says the Republicans brought this dysfunction upon themselves by constantly ignoring their base, which now has a louder voice with such a slim House majority in place. Finally, they groan as Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault during high school without one stitch of evidence is now back with a book allegedly telling her story. Greg and Inez blast what appears to be the left's political long game in convincing the public over time that Blasey Ford really was a victim. And Inez highlights that on many college campuses, men are still often treated far worse than Kavanaugh. Border Rush in El Paso, Green Agenda Choking Freedom, Palestinian Poll Ruins Dem Narrative
Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Today, Jon and Greg tackle three lousy martinis centered on the critical issues of national security and basic economic freedoms.First, they react to Thursday's horrifying rush of illegal aliens towards Texas National Guard troops and our border fence in El Paso, Texas. And despite this lawlessness, many of those people were allowed into the U.S.Next, they fume over President Biden's EPA announcing new emissions standards that would force electric vehicles to be a significant majority of new car purchases by 2032. Not only does this strangle economic choice but it's pure fantasy that our power grid can handle that massive surge in demand within a few years. And what if EV emissions are actually worse than those of regular cars? A new study suggests that's actually the case. Finally, they analyze a new poll of Palestinians which proves the Democrats' narrative on the Middle East is a lie. Palestinians do not condemn Hamas and they don't want peace with Israel. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now. Sen. Kennedy vs. Gun Grabbing Judge, Afghan Debacle Worse Than Thought, Defending Cannibalism?
Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Today, Jon and Greg break down one thoroughly enjoyable congressional hearing, an utterly infuriating one, and perhaps the craziest martini of all time. But before the martinis, they provide a brief update on Jim's latest reporting, including the closest he's been to intense Russian bombings in Ukraine. Thankfully, Jim is fine, but please keep praying for his safety and for the Ukrainian people. In today's martinis, Jon and Greg appreciate Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy's master class in exposing President Biden's radical judicial nominees. This week he flummoxed Judge Nancy Maldonado by highlighting her call for an assault weapons ban in a previous job and making her prove she has no idea what she means by "assault weapons."Next, they head to a House hearing in which former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley admits the Taliban has butchered a good number of our Afghan allies and that he and others in the Biden administration never knew how many Americans were in Afghanistan at the time of the withdrawal debacle so they had no idea how many were still there when the military left. They also highlight testimony from former CentCom Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, who admitted, "When I received the order to withdraw the US military, I was not ordered to plan to get U.S. citizens out, our allies out, or evacuate our embassy."Finally, just one week after "right-wing influencers" were accused of falsely stating some Haitian gangs engaged in cannibalism (even though they were right), the push is now on to defend the hideous practice. NewScientist.com laments that in contrast to zombie movies and characters like Hannibal Lecter, "positive stories of cannibals are few and far between." They also claim our primitive ancestors ate their dead as a sign of respect. The Texas Border Battle & the Courts, Fight Over the TikTok Bill, Why Do Squatters Have Rights?
Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim. Andy & Greg tackle thorny issues from securing the border to banning TikTok to people losing their homes to squatters.First, they react to the whiplash of the U.S. Supreme Court initially staying the Texas legislation allowing the state to arrest and deport illegal aliens, then allowing the law to into effect, and now an appellate court putting it on hold again due to another challenge. Andy explains why the legal gears grind slowly and why the issue should not ideally be decided by the courts.Next, they dig into legislation that would ban "foreign adversary-controlled applications." The immediate goal is to ban TikTok or force its parent company to sever ties with the Chinese Communist Party. The app is Chinese spyware and also fills the minds of young people with poisonous ideas. But is the currebt legislation the best vehicle to make that happen or does it potentially threaten the speech rights of American citizens? Finally, they explore the horrifying trend of homeowners finding squatters living in their houses. The squatters have no lease or any other legal justification to be there but the laws in New York and other places make it extremely difficult for property owners to have the intruders removed. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now. The Bill of Rights Does Not Protect the Government, It Protects Us from the Government
Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim. Andy joins Greg at a perfect time to break down three big legal stories.First, they react to Monday's oral arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court about whether the government can pressure social media platforms to delete or reduce visibility for posts containing what the government deems misinformation or disinformation. And they specifically recoil as Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson worries that ruling against the feds will end up having "the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways in the most important time periods." Andy and Greg stress that is the whole point of the First Amendment, and Andy explains the left's very disturbing trend of trying to make courts believe the Bill of Rights applies to the government the same way it does to individuals. Next, they look at Donald Trump's dilemma in New York City, where the former president says he cannot post the $454 million bond in the judgment against him in the civil fraud trial. Andy says this is an unusual case in that there are no alleged victims and he explains why the size of the judgment is absurdly high. Finally, they react to Washington state no longer requiring prospective attorneys to pass the bar exam, saying the test "disproportionally and unnecessarily blocks” marginalized groups from becoming attorneys. Andy may surprise you with his opinion about the necessity of the bar exam but he does worry about where the rationale for this change will eventually lead. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now. Voters Reject Biden Migrant Flights, The Trump-Media 'Bloodbath', The Dems' Kamala Problem
Inez Stepman of the Independent Women's Forum and host of the "High Noon" podcast is in for Jim. Today, Inez and Greg discuss discerning voters, a thoroughly dishonest mainstream media, and the Dems getting awfully defensive about Kamala Harris. First, they welcome a new poll showing 60 percent of likely voters opposing the Biden administration flying hundreds of thousands of migrants into the U.S. who have no legal justification for being here. And 46 percent strongly oppose it. They also take time to slam Senate GOP leadership for being so out of touch with the public and even their own members by thinking the Senate immigration bill would be acceptable to most Republicans. Next, they dissect the absurdly dishonest media reporting that Donald Trump promised a "bloodbath" for this country if he is not elected in November, when the context of the quote makes it painfully obvious he was saying the auto industry would see a bloodbath if Biden gets four more years. They also discuss how there are a dwindling number of places to find the truth in situations like these. Finally, they get a kick out of the left excoriating anti-Trump Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker for suggesting Vice President Kamala Harris should step down from the ticket because the VP's deep unpopularity creates another liability for a president who has quite a few already. The response to Parker's suggestion consisted of the typical accusations of racism, misogyny, and everything except the actual merits of the argument. Inez explains why she finds it "beautiful" to see the left coming face-to-face with the reality that Harris was hired based on diversity instead of competence and the results are disastrous. Bernie's Economic Pipe Dream, Blaming Beef for Droughts, Navigating the Electoral Doldrums
Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today as he and Greg serve up a full round of bad/crazy martinis after giving a well-deserved shoutout to Florida for showing it is possible to interdict illegal immigration. In their first crazy martini, they highlight Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders introducing legislation lowering the work week to just 32 hours but also demanding no drop in pay. In addition to the economic insanity, Jon points out that this runs afoul of America's strong work ethic. They also roll their eyes at the latest story suggesting Americans need to stop eating so much beef and dairy because it's supposedly responsible for the low water levels in the western U.S. because so much is needed to grow the plants that cattle eat. Jon and Greg are not buying that premise and suggest some more obvious reasons that water levels are down. Finally, they dig into Jon's latest column for Discourse magazine focusing on how man Americans are less than enthused about a Biden-Trump rematch. Jon explains what that apathy might mean in 2024 and why it's important to vote even if you don't love your options at the top of the ticket. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now. Blowing up Dems' Voter ID Lies, Schumer Undermines Israel, Media Malpractice Over Haiti
Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today as he and Greg enjoy a fantastic good martini, an infuriating bad one, and more media insanity.First, Jon and Greg sit back and relish Texas Republican Rep. Wesley Hunt savaging the Democrats' talking points that requiring voters to present a photo ID to vote is somehow racist, discriminatory, or burdensome. Rep. Hunt effectively and cleverly refers to his own experience as a black man in procuring photo ID's and the proof in Georgia that secure elections don't equal voter suppression. Then, they unload on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for castigating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from the Senate floor, with Schumer labeling Netanyahu an "obstacle to peace" and demanding new elections in Israel. And while he demands new elections and a change in Israeli leadership, Schumer assures us that the U.S. would never, ever interfere in those elections. Finally, they react with horror to the gang-fueled anarchy unfolding in Haiti and the humanitarian crisis that seems headed our way. But they also pause to note the insanity of NBC News blasting "right wing influencers" for pointing out some of these gangs have a history of cannibalism - rather than criticizing the gangs themselves. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now. The Hur Report vs. the Hill, Bucking House GOP Leaders, Will RFK Jr. Run with Aaron Rodgers?
Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim today. Andy and Greg dive into the law, congressional politics, and how the presidential campaign and the NFL might intersect this year.First, Andy analyzes Special Counsel Robert Hur's Tuesday testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. He explains why Adam Schiff was dead wrong to suggest Hur was playing politics by discussing Biden's faulty memory in his report on Biden's mishandling of classified information. He also dismisses Rep. Jayapal and others for wrongly insisting that the Hur report "exonerates" Biden, noting the facts of the report and that it's not the job of a prosecutor to exonerate anyone. But in reflecting on questions from the GOP side and the report itself, Andy outlines why he thinks Hur's ultimate conclusions were wrong.Next, they react to Colorado Rep. Ken Buck announcing his impending resignation from the House of Representatives. The move will leave the GOP with an even slimmer 218-213 margin with four special elections still to come. Andy suggests this move is quite telling about the battle for the future of the Republican Party. Finally, they get a kick out of reports that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is speaking "pretty continuously" with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers about Rodgers serving as Kennedy's running mate for his independent presidential bid. Hur's Testimony & Biden's Lies, Terrorists & Our Porous Border, 'Dumbed Down' Intel for Trump?
Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim and provides a wealth of historical and first-hand context to our three topics today.First, Andy and Greg assess Special Counsel Robert Hur's testimony surrounding the timeline confusion in Biden's testimony over allegations that he mishandled classified information. Hur's testimony puts the lie to Biden's angry denunciation that he was asked when his son died. Instead, Biden volunteered it and got it wrong.Andy also points out that Biden was found to be mishandling sensitive information for decades, including his time in the Senate. And he explains why Biden being in possession of classified info from his Senate days proves that Biden - and not his staff - is responsible for him having those documents. He also provides critical background information into another notorious example of a Democrat being caught red-handed illegally taking classified information. Next, they shudder as FBI Director Christopher Wray confirms in Senate testimony that the bureau is actively investigating allegations that human smugglers with ties to ISIS are actively moving people at our southern border. Andy says this should come as no surprise and he shares the stunning immigration enforcement incompetence that allowed the terrorist mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing to enter the U.S. illegally - even after being directly linked to a high-profile assassination overseas. Finally, they zero in on California Rep. Adam Schiff suggesting that Donald Trump should received "dumbed down" intelligence reports as the GOP presidential nominee because of the classified charges pending against him. Andy says this would not be the first time the intel community played favorites in a presidential election involving Trump, and he recalls why Schiff is the least credible advocate for this argument against the former president. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now.Fast Growing Treeshttps://fastgrowingtrees.com/martiniUse code Martini to save an additional 15% off on your first order.
