She then moved on to work in the New York City Mayor’s Office as the Animal Welfare Liaison, the only position of its kind in the country. In this position, Rachel worked on numerous initiatives, including the banning of wild animals in the circus and a Meatless Monday pilot for Brooklyn public schools. STM Clip: Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams on NYC Coronavirus Response: "I'm in the battle with you."

In this clip, Borough President Eric Adams discusses what it's like being on the front lines of the NYC Coronavirus response. We talk about seeing him personally giving out masks and food to people in need all over New York. He wonderfully states, in the midst of a crisis, "Generals don't send their troops into battle. They lead their troops into battle." "I'm in the battle with you."  Eric Adams is the Borough President of Brooklyn, New York City. Adams served as an officer in the New York City Transit Police and then the New York City Police Department, for 22 yearAdams was first elected to the New York State Senate in 2006, serving for four terms, until late 2013s.  .On November 5, 2013, Adams was elected Brooklyn borough president with 90.8 percent of the vote, more than any other candidate for borough president in New York City that year. He’s also played and playing a pivotal role in part of New York City’s response to combat the coronavirus. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen technical difficulties, the entirety of the interview for what have been episode 52 was not recorded. We loved having Eric Adams on. We discussed what it was like for him and other people on the front-lines. We discussed his thoughts on how NYC has been handling the virus and what still remains to be done. He discussed his vision and his goals as a community leader.  He's a role model and a wise inspiring figure. He's a good man and we need more political leaders like him in the world.
