In today’s episode, Trimble’s very own Amy Northcutt. Amy is the Senior Education Program Manager which means she gets to help schools implement classes and training that translate well to the field. We get to talk with her about a lot of the programs offered to educate students to become future industry leaders. Her goal is to serve not only students but educators through Trimble’s grant program for both primary and secondary education which allows for schools to have easier access to Sketch-Up and Tekla. Amazon is a behemoth in the retail marketplace. Continually evolving and getting more precise. And people love it, too. Nearly half of all American citizens have a Prime account. We're willing to wait the two extra days for the convenience of not having to get off the couch and turn off the next episode of Jack Ryan. We love it. The market has changed so rapidly because of Amazon. In the early 2000's you would have opted for the in-store experience over ordering online, but through time and fantastic service, they have changed the consumer mindset. So what does all of this have to do with construction? Turns out, quite a bit. Perfection was not the name of the game for Amazon in the beginning; the goal was to start something they knew would change the way the world purchased goods. David Moody is the owner of CD Moody, one of Atlanta’s Top 25 Commercial Contractors. If you live in or visited Georgia, you’ve been impacted by some of the projects he's been involved with. Projects include the Mercedes Benz Stadium, Atlanta History Center Cyclorama, and Turner Field just to name a few. After going to school to be an architect, he later decided that he didn’t want to just sit and draw all day, and he wanted to be outside in the field and putting the project together. So he decided to be a builder instead! He is also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Since being open and sharing his story with others, he has been an advocate for sexually abused children. He continues speaking up and being there for others who are survivors. He is an incredible person and we were honored to chat with him for a little while!
