Getting Discovered on Google (feat. Spencer Powell)

We don't know many people that enjoy putting together a company website. It can be a challenge getting the team on the same page so you can create something that will actually generate sales.  That's where Spencer Powell comes in. He specializes in helping Construction Companies grow their online presence so they can close more sales and build relationships with their customers. A big factor in this conversation is your SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Spencer educates us on building our SEO so that we come up in search results when people are looking for someone like us.  SEO is a great thing to have a basic understanding of as a business owner, of course you don't have to be an expert, but at least having a foundation to work off of is an advantage!  Related Links Builder FunnelBuilder Funnel RadioSpencer on LinkedIn Thanks for listening! The Woodwright Speaks (feat. Roy Underhill)

We are joined by a PBS legend this week! Roy Underhill has been the host of the Woodwright’s Shop for almost four decades and has been an inspiration to many craftsmen throughout the construction industry. Eddie and Tyler were giddy to have him come on the show and talk about the way things used to be done and why we should be proud of our heritage as builders. Make sure you stick around until the end. Roy absolutely kills the answer to our megaphone question. We came out of this interview with inspiration and a renewed sense of purpose. Like Lego

What comes first, the Lego bricks or the Lego master?  The modular construction movement is trying to figure out this very same issue. What comes first, is it the modules or the modular design? Construction already uses modular or unitized building materials as its basis for the design. Whether you are dealing with literal brick, lumber, plywood, or piping we use predictable sizes and shapes that complement each other and fit together well.  The big question is, how do we encourage more companies to go into modular building components? Eddie and Tyler dive into an interesting discussion this week based on a blog post Eddie has been working on. Thanks for listening! The RFI Blockchain

Eddie talks about one of his favorite history topics, The Civil War, and how that relates to the construction industry. Also we establish why Blockchain could help us answer RFI quicker! He has made the connection and walks us through how the changes and advancements in technology can cause gaps in our tactics. He shows some examples from the Civil War on how educated people can make poor decisions because technology has passed them by. Don’t let technology make what you are doing obsolete. Improvise, adapt, and better yourself to fulfill needs and widen margins. Related Links Tech and Tactics Blog PostCold Form Wall Panels - HowickTrello Thanks for listening! Keeping Glass & Glazing Contractors Safe (feat. Steven Brooks)

Let’s make the robots do the hard work. Why do we expect glass and glazing contractors to lift heavy sheets of glass into place, and we don’t expect steelworkers to carry around beams and columns? This week, we talk to Steven Brooks about the Smart Lift. The Smart Lift can increase longevity for glaziers in the glass industry and decrease injuries on the job site. We also chat about autonomy in the glass and glazing industry, and why it won’t be replacing people any time soon. Also, Eddie shows us what the Amish do when they need to move something heavy. It's pretty spectacular. Check it out in the link below! Related Links SmartLift WebsiteSteven’s LinkedInSmartLift’s InstagramSteven’s TwitterAn Amish Barn Move Thanks for listening!
