Part 2: Carolyn Custis James. Author of Malestrom and Half the Church.

This is Part 2 of Carolyn Custis James' insights into misread passages on key men and women. The focus is on Deborah, Jael, Barak, Judah and Tamar. Carolyn says: Patriarchy is not the Bible's message. It's the backdrop. The men in these Bible stories weren't following what men are "supposed to do." Instead they were embodying Jesus. Here’s her website:https://carolyncustisjames.com. She is the author of numerous books. The latest is Malestrom: How Jesus Dismantles Patriarchy and Redefines Manhood, and she is well-known as the author of Half the Church: Recapturing God's Global Vision for Women. Dr. Max Botner's extended personal interview of Bruce C. E. Fleming

"I prayed to receive Christ when I was 11 years old because nobody had explained how before then," Bruce recalls. When I read the Revised Standard Version of the Bible they gave me I didn't question it. After all, the cover said "Holy Bible." I still don't question what God communicated to us but I have come to understand come to understand there are mis-translation and mis-interpretation issues in Genesis 3:16 and in the related passages on women and men. As the result of the extensive research of my wife, Joy Fleming, PhD, PsyD, and of my own doctoral level studies we have come to understand that God didn't curse Eve (or Adam) or limit woman in any way. This why we have co-founded the Tru316 Foundation which is the home of The Eden Podcast, to "true" the verse of Genesis 3:16 and to spread the POSITIVE message of Eden! Think Again Thursday - The 11 Tru Words of Genesis 3:16

What really happened in Genesis 3:16? Not what most would have you believe!1. In Line 1 of Genesis 3:16 God took action in two ways NOT ONE. (1) When God cursed the ground because of the man causing sorrowful-toil, the woman would experience that too. (2) Had God foretold that the woman's offspring would crush the serpent's head?  God confirmed that good news to her personally!2. In Line 2 God explained she would experience psychological sorrow raising children as mother in a world of good and evil.3. In Line 3 God looked into her heart. She had not rebelled. She yet affectionately desired her husband.4. In line 4, the state of her husband's heart is revealed. He had rejected God and His Word. He would sinfully rule over her!The Tru316 Foundation offers four Tru School Workshops for those who wish to go deeper.
