Commentary Track: Batman (1989)

Thirty years ago today, Tim Burton’s Batman hit theaters and changed the course of movie history. The DC Comics adaptation starring Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton marked the first time anyone dared to take the Dark Knight seriously in live action, and its staggering box office success laid the groundwork for every single cinematic superhero battling it out in multiplexes ever since. It all happened because of Batman. As you can imagine, this one hit us at exactly the right time, so it’s a pretty important movie moment for both of us, and we had an absolute blast watching, reminiscing, and sharing anecdotes, and we hope you’ll enjoy listening along! You can hear it through the embed below or at iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, and Spotify! Commentary Track: Godzilla (1998)

With Godzilla stomping through theaters once again, we take the opportunity to hop back in time and re-watch the first attempt to Americanize the big guy: 1998’s infamous disaster Godzilla, directed by Roland Emmerich and produced by Dean Devlin — two men who know from disasters. This movie was such a well-known debacle that it rendered the character radioactive (sorry) stateside for the next sixteen years. But is the Matthew Broderick monster mash as terrible as its rep? Tune in to get our takes! Listen via the embed below or hear it at iTunes, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, and Spotify!
