Despite a game performance from returning star Arnold Schwarzenegger, we weren't big fans of this one when it first hit theaters, but has the intervening decade softened our views? A new FANTASTIC FOUR is in theaters today, and we thought it was a perfect time to dip into the archives and revisit the one from 2005. It was a simpler time, when budgets were lower, needle drops were more plentiful and the MCU was still three years away, but there's still some charm in this mid-aughts Marvel movie. The Bryan Singer-directed superhero sequel was meant to revitalize the Man of Steel's movie fortunes in the mid-aughts, but it failed to take flight, leading to nearly two decades of studio indecision.
