It's ecocentric, soulcentric, grounded, placed-rooted, cooperation-based, holistic, and whole-hearted. These students gather to express their thoughts on this place of learning and growth.⁠ ⁠ One thing I loved hearing from them is that there are a lot of kinds of intelligences that go beyond standard academic ones. In this episode of the Time for Teachership Podcast, I am talking with Dr. Kelly Cerialo, an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in the Business and Hospitality Department at Paul Smith's College.⁠ ⁠ The model that Dr. Cerialo's school focuses on is innovative experiential learning. Place-based learning is what inspires the current study abroad program at the college. Because the students are in the middle to lower income brackets, the intention with the study abroad program was to make it accessible to everyone. The routines are great for simplifying, like how you start, how you transition, how are you organizing your materials, How do you end, and so on. She completed her EdD in Educational Leadership in early 2020. Embrace passion and fearlessness because that's what fuels you to be the best leader you can be!⁠ ⁠ In Episode 66, Mark Taylor explains why it's important to pay attention to what students want and provide a path for them to succeed. He mentions how he likes to use the FIRE acronym where F stands for Failure (to understand what failure really means), I for Inspiration, R for Resilience, and E for Empowerment.⁠ ⁠ If educators use the FIRE principles, then every child has the chance to do what they were born to do in a natural way.
