Nick Griemsmann (author, minister)
Episode 173- Nick Griemsmann! In all the interviews I’ve done, Nick’s story is the most incredible. While working a bartender at a nightclub he decided he wanted a different life for himself. After joining the infamous Tony Alamo cult, Nick was diagnosed with “incurable” schizophrenia. After multiple hospitalizations, medications and hard times, he began a healing journey. He eventually received a “decertification letter” that said he no longer had a diagnosis of schizophrenia. It’s an incredibly inspiring story that we both hope can help people struggling with mental illness. 0:00:00 - Intro0:02:58 - Nick & Book Synopsis 0:05:45 - The "Misters" 0:07:55 - Bullying & Insecurity 0:09:10 - Drugs, Alcohol & Christian TV 0:11:15 - The Monk Walk 0:14:05 - Joining Tony Alamo's Cult 0:16:21 - Defining a Cult0:18:40 - Mental Break & Hearing Voices 0:21:20 - Leaving the Cult & Being Hospitalized 0:23:10 - Schizophrenia & Medication 0:24:45 - Recovery Work & Sense of Purpose 0:27:35 - Saving Yourself & Having Hope 0:32:50 - Defeating Schizophrenia & Mental Health Job 0:35:42 - First Book, Sid Roth TV Show & Ministry 0:36:42 - Livestreaming & Travel0:40:00 - Finding Hope 0:41:55 - Mr. Condemnation & Patience0:45:50 - Treating Mental Health 0:52:40 - Christian Discrimination & Helping People 0:55:45 - Father's Friends 0:57:05 - Lightning Strike & National Media 0:59:37 - Wrap UpNick's Book on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/dp/1664240241/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_4NFWHMT5BXXM6ZFCVSVEFather's Friends Ministry website:https://www.thefathersfriends.orgChuck Shute website:http://chuckshute.comSupport the showThanks for Listening & Shute for the Moon!
