Lou's provides ski boot fitting services, sells high performance ski equipment, bikes and everything else in between. In short, Lou’s specializes in adapting ski equipment with the knowledge of Biomechanics and modern pressure/balance measuring tools to setup alpine skiers for their day on the slopes. Lou has also published numerous academic papers on everything from the science of boot fitting, to avalanche transceivers. In addition, Lou graduated from the the University of Calgary with a Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics), and the Oregon Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This episode we are joined by Colin Frostad - VP Exploration for Tourmaline Energy - Canada's largest natural gas producer with a market cap of ~$9 Billion, annual revenues of ~$2 Billion and annual production of approximately 400,000 boe/d.Colin has served as the Vice President, Exploration of Tourmaline since November 2019 and prior to that was the Exploration Manager and Senior Geologist.Prior to joining Tourmaline, Colin served as a Geologist at Duvernay Oil Corp until its acquisition in 2008.Colin holds a Master of Science (Geology) and Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Calgary. Hello and welcome to episode #66 of the rose bros podcast!This episode we are joined by Therese Brisson – CEO of Alpine Canada.Therese Brisson played for the Canadian National women's ice hockey team from 1993 to 2005 and was a member of the gold medal winning team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and silver medal winning team at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.Therese also competed for Canada at 5 World Championships in 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001.After sport, Therese earned her Master’s and PhD degrees from the University of Montreal as well as an MBA specializing in finance and management consulting from York University.In July of 2020, she was named CEO of Alpine Canada where she was tasked with bringing a fresh perspective to the organization.Since then, she has been working on leading Alpine Canada through the Covid-19 pandemic while simultaneously planning the future of the organization.We sat down for a smooth cup of rose bros coffee and discussed carving Alpine Canada’s unique path forward, the importance of a winning mindset, budgets vs. organizational effectiveness, and what Alpine Canada isn’t planning on doing going forward. Enjoy! Support the show

At its core, Link Energy is a retail energy provider that supplies electricity and natural gas to both residential and commercial users .Link also provides a high level of customers service, customizable service plans and contributes a portion of sales to support non-profit community programs.Instead of having to purchase your electricity from a faceless monolith, Link has made its goal to leave customers with a smile on their face knowing their purchase supports social causes (think artisanal coffee shop instead of corporate giant).Fast forward to today and  Wayne has build an 8 figure business that in 2019, Canadian Business and Maclean's  ranked  No. 6 on the 30th annual Growth 500 - a ranking of Canada's fastest growing companies on five year revenue growth. Hello and welcome to episode #62 of the rose bros podcast !This episode we are joined by Glenn Thomsen - athlete, coach and dad who has guided ski racers from the grassroots level all the way up to the Olympic & World Cup stage.In 2017, The Canadian Rockies Ski Racing Hall of Fame recognized Glenn as an Honored Alberta and Canadian Ski Team Alumni, for a lifetime of passion for ski racing and coaching excellence.Glenn invested forty years into coaching elite level and next generation champions at three Olympic Winter Games, the Canadian National Ski Team on the World Cup Circuit, Provincial Ski Teams, grassroots club programs, and has seen his athletes reach the podium in both speed and tech – ladies and men.Among many athletes, Glenn guided Karen Percy to two Olympic bronze medals (1988) and a World Championship silver (1989), as well as podium results from Laurie Graham, Liisa Savijarvi, Kerrin Lee-Gartner and Lucie Laroche, Edi Podivinsky and Cary Mullen, Thomas Grandi, Brad Spence, Trevor White, Paul Stutz – all of who would subsequently reach the World Cup top 10 or better.Glenn has since retired from the sport of Alpine Ski racing and likes to spend his time with his family and wife Meghan, mountain biking, water skiing and playing hockey.We sat down for a smooth cup of rose bros coffee   and talked about different approaches to high level coaching, what makes a great athlete, how to stay young , advice to junior athletes and a lot more.Enjoy!Support the show

This episode we are joined by Manuel Osborne-Paradis  for part II of our conversation!Born in North Vancouver, British Columbia - Manny grew up racing for the Whistler Mountain Ski Club. His first World Cup podium came in November 2006 at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada, and his first victory was at the downhill of Kvitfjell in March 2009.Manny spent 13 seasons on the World Cup Circuit competing in 4 Olympic Games and 6 World Championships with 2 Downhill wins, 1 Super-G win and 11 podium finishes. Since our last conversation, Manny made the decision to retire from the sport of alpine ski racing to focus on his business career, two young children and wife Lana.Manny currently lives in Invermere, British Columbia where he enjoys ski touring, golf, mountain biking and a variety of sports.
